"I can't say I'm surprised [UNLV was not included] because I was pleased with the configuration, and actually the metrics and the metrics spoke to the decision-making process, and I and they were very, very objective in that sense," San Diego State president Adela de la Torre said. "So in my mind, I think it was the best four that were selected."
Looks like SDSU's president was behind UNLV not being invited. Hmmmmmmm..........why would that be?

I fully expect UNLV will be part of the PAC. Worst case is they come in for 2027 which would result in no "poaching penalty."

I read the article, I don’t think State was against UNLV, just that the PAC 2 and MW 4 all felt that, for now, the PAC 6 was the correct set of schools… from that base they would look at who else to add…

Nevarez < Hair Thompson
Completely unaware of anything that was happening … must've been fast asleep at the wheel while dreaming about all those "big' fines - which will be gone faster than she will be.
Thankful to finally be out of that clown show of a conference.
Whether UNLV deserves a seat at the table greatly depends on who the Pac N might lure from the midwest. Regardless, the Rubbles will always know that they weren't "the first choice" …

That doesn't imply she was BEHIND UNLV not being invited, it implies she just wasn't against it. CSU was a better fit - deal with it.

You're right, a very well written and thorough recap of events leading to this "new" conference. Thanks for posting it.

Interesting, but I want to know who the 2Pac called first when things turned serious last week. Probably either us or Boise, and did they then discuss who would make up the other two?
