How the heck did Colorado State drop so far? I thought, academically anyway, they've always been rated higher than SDSU? Take that with a grain of salt, as I don't follow those rankings that closely. But I swear that's what I recall. Boise's ranking, I fully understand. Forbes is strong on things like how much you make 10 years after graduation, how much student debt you took on, graduation rate etc., a lot of ROI parameters in which SDSU is very strong. The parameter that is weighted the highest, is alumni salary. USN&WR isn 't really a good source for rating the academics or academic value of a university. Is 'alumni salary' adjusted for cost of living? If not, those rankings are absolutely worthless.

UNLV may a have a nice Vegas media market but the school is not known for it's brains. So, which is more important to the PAC? Media revenue or scholastic prestige? Oldie Out The fact they took BSU answered that question...glorified junior college

Don't know, but Colorado isn't exactly Alabama or Mississippi if you believe most students stay in the region where they graduated.

The Colorado State ranking is a little suspect. It is known to be a pretty good school. US News has them ranked 151.
