So does this imply there were recent offers to go to big 12 but at a reduced rate? The offers to the big 12 weren’t just hold overs from when the OG PAC was still alive? |

There has been no offer from the B12 since they poached Utah, UA and ASU to go with Colorado… JD has had conversations with the B12 many times trying to get an invite at a lower rate for three years… but he was told no… The financials he is quoting was for joining the B12 prior to Colorado… Yormack was playing Chess and using State to lure Colorado… turns out he didn’t need us… the financials would have been as the only west coast school in the B12… now… it would be fantastic after getting to full share… |

thought ESPN was only going to pay the Big 12 the 32 million for schools if they were from a P5 conference not sure what they would pay for schools from the MW but think it was a lot less so as JD is saying the Big 12 would only be giving SDSU a very small amount - and not sure IF as pointed out they were only using SDSU to get the 4 corner schools of the old PAC

This is the best article on the realignment that I've read. Appreciate this. Honestly, I have made an effort not the write these articles unless I could add information that wasn't known. JD Wicker's comments about the Big XII and his deal numbers of teams was news to me. |

Milk the Pac-12 brand for all it's worth. It will add a little panache to recruiting and get us into players' homes that only entertained P5 offers. The program is in rebuild mode and it starts with player upgrades.

This is going to be something much better. And let's see who the final two schools are. They obviously need to add two more schools to be in compliance with the NCAA as a recognized conference. But, I don't think it stops at 8 teams. This is a very fluid situation that will likely take several more years to settle. |

Yes, it's beneficial to get rid of the bottom feeders. This alone is worth the change, the risk, the money, etc.
I hope NO additional MWC schools are added (Unless UNLV is swapped out for Fresno St.). NO New Mexico, NO Hawaii. NO Nevada. NO Utah State. NO NO NO.
While we are waiting for the CalFord/SMU bounce-back, I hope there are other schools out there that can be added and add some value, e.g., Tulane, Memphis.

It's not a big step, but at least it's a step up. I would like to see us play UNLV and NM in basketball every season. Maybe we could do home and homes with then alternating one and then the other at home each year. |
