This story raises a number of interesting questions. Putting aside traditionally-staid USC's reputation for the moment, how in the hell -- after torpedoing one conference in favor of another in the search for more money -- do they need what I can only assume is comparative chump-change from a glorified dope dispensary in a bid to hedge disruptions to revenue streams? www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2024/09/11/usc-cbd-cookies

Not all money is good money, but all money is money. U$¢ understands this.

Not all money is good money, but all money is money. U$¢ understands this. And they care about nothing, or no one, except the money spigot.

My read, if the old guard well-heeled types such as can be found in Cardinal & Gold boosters still has sway on that campus, is that the administration is looking to shove this DeHart character out the side-door. "How did we get left behind?" in the CBD revenue stream game? Is this for real? I don't even read The Onion and I would think it's from The Onion, is how bad that is. There's gotta be more to this. I've sure the alumni that hold all of those $200,000 degrees are over the moon with this...

Maybe, I am in the minority here, but who cares about who they partner with. It is not a criminal organization and isn't illegal. Maybe the "look" isn't ideal for the University or there alumni. At the end of the day, it was bound to happen at some point, just like gambling companies with the Pro Sports.
Stoner agrees with this message.

Yeah, but they now need to change their name to USSC, University of Spoiled & Stoned Children.

When has USC ever cared about doing the ethically right thing? Perfect fit for them, IMO.
