watched the replay of the game - the TV announcer said when SDSU had the ball after falling behind 21-0 that it seemed very strange that SDSU called 3 straight running plays - was it a sign that SDSU was giving up on even trying to score  ? |

announcers said they have done games where teams have been down by more then 21-0 but still made the effort to try to score

Maybe they should slow things down somewhat (huddle up every other play), try to get some first downs and keep the defense off the field as long as possible. Give the D some rest.
