Not a fan of singling out kids/players detrimentally. Praise specifically, criticize generally (save for coaches as they deserve all of the animosity they have engendered).

That one had too many problems tonight. Don't know WTF he was on, but it wasn't the same wavelength as everyone else.

I don't know what the official record is for most penalties in the shortest amount of time by one guy, but he's in the running for it.

#53 had a rough start to the game, but he played well thereafter. #63 had a rough game from start to finish, one of the announced holds on #53 was actually #63.

O-line has very little experience playing together and we lost our starting LT in the first half of the first game. Everyone on that side of the field, outside of TE Harrison, is learning an entirely new offense.

I wondered why and how he lost his starting job in camp Now I see It was reported that he was hurt. Which is why our former starting LT played left guard in the first game for the first half before sliding over to tackle after injury.

Everyone on that side of the field, outside of TE Harrison, is learning an entirely new offense. I know the coaches like to talk up this angle of football (same page, continuity), but honestly it's not rocket science. State's Offensive line did not have any glaring protection issues as they gave up one sack and very few hurries in the passing game and their run blocking was actually decent to good. Mental errors and sticky hands were the issues for the oline and Harrison at te, you can fix that in practice. I played for a coach that would tell the trainers to tape the hands tight on every oline player except the C's snap hand so they could not grasp anything other than a water bottle. QB and WR play was actually more concerning to me. Poke and crew dropped balls that hit them in the hands, especially in the sub 10 routes. O'Neil was owned by Oregon State's Safey, he baited him into about 5 terrible throws that actually exposed the WR way too much. this is a result of not reading his keys. CAL's secondary is very good, I will be surprised if they keep it within 3 td's.

I did think the pass blocking was pretty good though run blocking did allow multiple tackles for loss. We lost our LT last week and this week's starting LG missed time due to injury. I think the mistakes by the O-line was a deciding factor in this game, that and the fumble at the opponent's goal line. I had marked this and next week's game as losses before the season and warned those on here not to expect a winning season from Lewis in year one.

I'm already done with the fast talk/ O genius hype. Was he calling the plays? Because if he called the QB(injured) draw at goal line, then he is no genius!! I was sorta optimistic about this season and thought 5 wins, possibly 6 would be a great start??? Now, I can see us being 0-4 by next home game, maybe 3 wins for the year. Which mean we are looking at 150 students, players families and 8k faithful/diehard fan crowds by last games.

Cooper averaged 4.1 per carry. The kid makes more from nothing! the oline is not half bad this season, it helps to have a back with patience, vision, and an understanding of leverage. But don't take away from the line. they have a big test this week.
