I would like to see Lucky get some touches. I hope we see him at RB the next time we are on offense. It does seem like we have something special with our RB. That young man plays hards and doesn't seem to go down on first contact. He is going to be fun to watch this season. |

Nice to win but the penalties? OMG a personal foul on a point after? How many calls on the offensive line. I saw nothing fast about AztecFast. I was just waiting for illegal spinning.

Watching from home... The video quality by TNT Sports is really nice. They drone shots in particular were super. If they covered next week's Oregon State game, they'd probably get even better shots. Good pub. My only suggestion to the would-be TV producers out there is that it'd be fun to get a shot of the concourse areas where the "easter eggs" are and views from, e.g., the bars -- so some sort of roving camera guy. May not have the budget for that quite yet. Maybe for the Holiday Bowl or something.
The announcers... so-so. I certainly could not do better if I was in the booth, but not exactly Keith Jackson, either.

This was a game to play the entire roster and not let Cooper take a majority of snaps. 27 carries for 223 yards is too many in this game. If he is that good, he needs to stay healthy. The quarterback for Tennessee was pulled at halftime in their blowout win. Once again, SDSU coaches do not know how to use Lucky Sutton. He had the most yards at the Aztecsfest.

Game is pretty much as expected, lots of stupid mistakes though the freshman QB really didn't make any glaring ones. Yes, he missed some deep passes but on many of those the WR wasn't getting a lot of separation so missing long is better than short. He got better as the game progressed and made some good decisions. Had Rocky been the coach, we likely win in a shutout, something like 11-0.
As for the mistakes, this is a team with a completely new coaching staff (most have not worked a game together before), new system and largely a new roster with a true freshman starting. Of course they are going to make mistakes. O-line, first game playing together as a unit, with one starter out and another injured in the first half (hopefully not seriously).
I recall months ago being called negative on here because I said 5 wins this year would be a good accomplishment. Also said I hoped the new staff would be given a chance before people started calling them out. I only went back to page 5 or 6 on here and, well, many on here didn't disappoint.
I'm happy with this win and the fact the team played better as the game progressed. Really thought O'Neil played more mature than I expected.
Right now, highly touted Zona is only up by 3 on New Mexico in Tucson. Gotta think their fans expected to be up by 3 TDs by now. UCLA barely beat Hawaii, and Big 10 member Oregon wins by 10 over powerhouse Idaho at home.

Agree. What do we gain by this movement? Well, I guess that is what it does. Lewis probably has 20 plays out of the weird XP formation. Let's see how this plays out over the season. I will say in the debut of AztecGast the XPs were the fastest thing they did all night ... which was ... interesting. |
