the NCAA is looking at eliminating the second Transfer Portal time - other for players that have a change in their HC Here's what I think should be done to make the portal less damaging to the have-nots in college football. How about a limit on the number of transfers a school can receive in one year? I would prefer a limit of 5, but I suppose that would not pass. Okay, how about a limit of 10 per year?
Also, how about not allowing transfers after December 31st?
(I would like the power schools be required to pay at least a modest amount to a G5 school from which the transfer player is grabbed. Maybe $50,000. They can afford it.)

NCAA is an organization that is well past it's "Best if Used By" date … trying to make itself the least bit relevant in the midst of the current maelstrom in college sports. They signed away any relevance they had to media giants and player agents.

what this could mean is that a player does not have the opportunity to see if they are way down on the depth chart
does mean a player only has the 30 days in December /January to put their name into the Portal
would guess that the coaches will appreciate the change to simplify the situation on player transfer movement out

They are forced into this rule change as players have been opting out of bowls, need bodies for television.

the NCAA is officially submitting the elimination of the Spring Transfer Portal and think if passed would start this season No chance in hell of passing. Where would Bama, Ohio state, LSU, Michigan, et al find players to bring in after the ones they brought midyear flamed out and they were desperate come May?

You have a good point here, the big are only getting bigger and they like having their options.

AzWmI agree on the payment, but the restrictions on transfers is definently not going to fly with any number below 15.
