Beat quality opponents repeatedly. Seems like we have kind of done that. No we haven’t. Especially, not in that stadium.

If we win a bunch, fans will create their own environment. They will show up early to tailgate and hang out afterwards to talk about how awesome it was.

One the game day experiences I have been to is at Oregon State. Part of the reason it is so good is that the stadium is on campus. The game experience at Snapdragon will improve when the Mission Valley campus gets built around it not just a parking lot.

Anybody remember the Shriners driving around in Aztec Bowl back in the dim and distant days in their little cars? That should do the trick. Simpler times. Yes, but remember we had a dedicated Shriners game. I don't know the financial arrangements we had with the Shriners. They may have got a cut of the gate or just thought that the advertising value was beneficial to their fund raising. Their children's hospitals are certainly a worthy cause.

The marketing in our athletic department has two issues: a severe lack of creative, innovative people and not a lot of money and resources. We could use the same rejuvenation and infusion of energy and creativity to our marketing department that Sean Lewis has brought to the overall football program. But we don't want to spend the kind of cash to bring people in and fund their ideas. So it's not gonna happen. wonder what the resources are compared to the Wave FC club? Over many years I've know several well connected people, who out of thier love of SDSU have offered to use thier connection, volunteer or if necessary act as consultant for a very modest fee to help SDSU find corporate sponsors and increase marketing and game day. Responses is always the same from SDSU, no call back or Thanks but no thanks.

Way overrated! Win many, many games with exciting football and there will be no tickets available.

I just hope it isn't driven by those stupid scoreboard posts like "Get-Loud" or "D#," I hate that crap. I also hate any fans that do that stupid "Tomahawk Chop," bullcrap. Win, be entertaining, engaging with the fanbase and community, and the people of San Diego will figure out how to support them in the stands.
I do agree with Chet and Ables. Mount Rushmore of Aztec Fans.

Way overrated! Win many, many games with exciting football and there will be no tickets available. Not exactly true, look back over the last 10 or 15 years and take out the KGB fireworks shows and you have some very under whelming attendance numbers. Then add in the fact that the Marketing and Promotions have been stale to lame (being nice here) year after year. They have got to be one of the worst aspects of this program the last 25 plus years and yet nothing changes year after year. People can say what they want about poor attendance but it really comes down to making the game day experience more of an event then just the game on the field. The serious/hardcore fans are going to show up game after game but the casual/new fans will NOT return if bored or not entertain by the game day experience and those are the fans that SDSU really needs to start bring in. The casual/new fans are what will build up the numbers and start new traditions and hopefully elevate to University to a bigger conference. This program needs to win over the student population and start to fill the student section while and also keeping it full into the 4th quarter.

One the game day experiences I have been to is at Oregon State. Part of the reason it is so good is that the stadium is on campus. The game experience at Snapdragon will improve when the Mission Valley campus gets built around it not just a parking lot. We were in Corvallis last year, too. The whole campus transformed into one big gameday venue. Different areas for different kinds of activities - and there's no lack of activities. Aztec Village is really a joke by comparison, but then again, what's the competition in San Diego? And except for the Aztecaritas, the parking lot tailgate situation at Snapdragon doesn't really make me want to get there early for any "pregame festivities" except for Aztecaritas. Cramped, small spaces don't help the overall game day atmosphere. Maybe with the new tailgate area for RVs that'll change a little bit. But it's going to take years. It really feels like this fan base needs to build itself from the ashes and start all over again - in just about every area. No reason it can't be done, but it's gonna have to come from fans, can't expect the university or the AD to do anything about this. They built a stadium and are supporting a D1 team. It's up to fans to make the rest of it work.

It is a sad reflection on Aztec football and fans that over 50 years ago we averaged around 40,000 fans for home games. The year was 1969. And that was with 1/3 the population of today.

Without a gimmick to make fans not want to miss the start of games like Enter Sandman at Virginia Tech, the Aztecs will just have to rely on what worked when I was a kid.
Having an explosive, exciting offense with a star like Marshall play for you so fans don't want to miss a single second of action
