Just an update, Dinwiddie is coming back to California after committing to Chico State. As a recap, two years at SDSU (MW), one season at Weber State (Big Sky) one season at St Mary's in Texas (Lone Star Conf) and his super senior year will be with Chico State (CCAA). Fairfax HS (LA, CA) > SDSU (San Diego, CA) > Weber State (Ogden, UT) > St Mary's (San Antonio, TX) > Chico State (Chico, CA) Here's his St. Mary's stat line, he played 25 minutes a game an averaged 10 Points, 1.6 Rebounds and almost 2.0 Assists, shot 45%, 38% from three, 65% from the line. rattlerathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/keith-dinwiddie/3598

He was supposed to be such a shooter when he came here. Now he's shooting 65% from the FT line. I always rooted hard for him and really thought he could be our 3-pt sniper. But he certainly didn't live up to the hype. Hope he has a good year at Chico State.

Was a mistake from Day 1. You mean a mistake he made leaving? Or mistake bringing him in?

Was a mistake from Day 1. Have ball will travel. He played on a very good Fairfax HS team who I think won the LA City CIF Championship and was supposed to be a dead-eye shooter. He liked to shoot, didn't buy in to the defensive side if I remember right. Looking back at the recruiting class: Dinwiddie, Che Evans, & Lamont Butler, only one panned out.

How did this guy even earn a scholarship here? Just shows how hit or miss recruiting can be. Heβs barely a college level player.

Maybe we should just accept that sports is a human endeavor and sometimes things do not work out for numerous reasons. I hope he has found some fulfillment in his journey and made some new friends along the way. Nice to know all the critical posters here always lived up to their full potential and always made the right decisions in their lives so they are in a better a position to judge others.

I mean he's done a lot more in basketball, or sports in general, than probably any of us. Definitely more than me, so I'm not going to put him down. Hopefully, his experiences will help carry him on to a successful career in whatever future field he chooses.

I have to be honest here I just hope he had some fun, made some good friends and made great business contacts for later in life and oh yeah, got his degree.
Guys, it just a game and don't forget, life WILL get in the way sooner or later.

Lighten up, Frances... or is it... Get Off My Lawn... or maybe Orange Slices and Participation Ribbons For All? You see that banner at the top of the page, specifically the part where it says "Where San Diego State sports fans have their say"? That gives us license to judge whether or not an athlete has lived up to their expectations. Whether you like it or not, every single one of us has been judged on almost every single action we have taken in life.. by someone. This forum is appropriate to discuss/judge Mr. Dinwiddie's high D1 basketball bona fides (or lack thereof).

Hey, I had high hopes for him and spent like $500 on the auction for his jersey. Only to find out a medium doesn't really fit a fat over weight out of shape younger than AzTex guy. At least the school got the money. Hell, I don't even know what happened to the jersey. I think someone took it out of my car or something. Oh well, I couldn't fit it over these guns I call arms. ππ
