Awesome! Now sit at the end of the bench and get ready for next season... while collecting your medal!

This has always seemed to be his philosophy ( although you couldn't tell by his facial expression).

Looks like kawhi was asked to withdraw from Olympics. “He respects team USA and clippers decision to have him focus on next year”

Looks like kawhi was asked to withdraw from Olympics. “He respects team USA and clippers decision to have him focus on next year” I wonder how much of that decision was Ballmer's. When you're paying someone over $50M a year and they haven't been able to finish the playoffs for the last two years AND you just lost Paul George, I'd be pretty strong about my feelings having Kawhi play in the Olympics instead of getting healthier for the season.

Fully agree. It would have been cool to see him in the Olympics, but they most likely would have load managed him even for the six games. Nobody wants to see that. That was likely his last chance at the Olympics. I doubt he'll still be playing in four years, at least not at the level Team USA would want him to be at. I still think the Clippers got fleeced in that Paul George trade with the Thunder. I think PG is a great player, but they needed Gilgous-Alexander in the lineup more than they needed Kawhi-lite. Not to mention the multi draft picks they gave up.

But giving up 5 First-Round picks WAS stupid. You can blame some of that on Kawhi too. He had just come over from Toronto and wanted to play with George. And the Clippers wanted to make Kawhi happy.

Yep, I remember that well. That's why GMs should be making the roster decisions, not the superstars. SG-A actually was being praised as an up-and-coming star by many league observers, even after his rookie year. The Clipper's biggest weakness after Kawhi joined was having mediocre play at the point - Patrick Beverley, et al. Not that they were horrible, but you need a better field general if you're going to go far in the playoffs.
