Still not sold on the belief that making millionaires out of college kids really improves their real quality of life. I know it does give them a lot of $$$$$$$. but it has totally screwed up college sports . I am nearing 70 and though not rich I am fortunate to be financilly comfortable . The older I get the clearer it becomes that money isn't the most important thing and if I think back to my late teens / twenties I don't think having millions would have been a good thing. It is true that in a lot of cases many high profile athletes deserve more than a college education, room and board but I wonder if there was a middle ground somewhere ? Anyway that ship has sailed I guess and maybe along with it amateur sports when it comes to D1 football and basketball. It's a different world today. You need six-figures for a down payment on a home today. So being a collegiate athlete millionaire definitely gives them a leg up on everyone else their age who didn't get born into the lucky sperm club There was an outstanding middle ground nobody in power wanted. Player unions. That's gonna help the little guys and perhaps give some sort of regulation on the Wild West.

Hoke came on board with Rocky and found out it looked and sounded much better on paper from day one and that this second go around was not anything like the first time.

They bring no value other than entertainment.

Hoke looked like a guy who had enough with his job and was collecting checks. We've all had co-workers hit that wall and witnessed similar appearances
