He's using load management to sit out this birthday.
Last year on his birthday he strained an oblique muscle blowing out his candles. 🎂

I love Kawai, but if I was a big clipper fan, I’d be upset that he’s going to play in the Olympics after playing so intermittently in the NBA all year. I’d want him to stay home and get as healthy as he can.

I think we all love Kawhi, but all the "sitting out", load management stuff and injuries has to be frustrating and worth questioning/wondering if you're a Clippers fan or an NBA "commenter". If he's on your NBA team, in this case the Clippers, it's gotta be tough and cause you to tap out in Kawhi at some point. He's such an incredible player, so impactful and winning player ... when he plays. Kind of a shame.

Yes, now it looks like Paul George is likely gone. Kawhi has Harden who’s another year older and likes to take time off also. It’s a shame. I believe he got some bad medical advice when he was in San Antonio and he’s never really gotten over it. I understand him wanting to protect himself because the teams management don’t really care in the long run about the players. But it’s a shame what it’s done to it his career.
