I was up in Corvalis last weekend for a graduation. They held it in Reser stadium. Disclosure, I have not yet been in Snapdragon. But, interested in what others who have been in both might have to say. Reser was remodeled over the past couple of years, with completion in 2023. Capacity is now at 35,548. The cost for the remodel was approx $150 mil.
I was impressed. It had a "bigger" feeling than 35k capacity. The top section was so steep though, that it seemed that if you fell forward you would fall right into the section below.
Oh, and no canopies.

I've been to Reser four times -- the first three were in its original "Parker Stadium" format (with, obtw, one VERY huge canopy -- where the sound reverberated back down to the field), and last year's Aztec game up there.
My only criticism of it (they were still getting the sound system straight, and I'm assuming will have it in top-notch in short order. But other than that...) was that the walkway on the field level stands was really tight, and they had plopped the various food vendors all along that walkway -- so it compounded the crowding problem. Aside from that... Loved that place. Being up there on a sunny early-autumn day... Nothing better. Just spectacular.

No canopies but they do have "roofs" that extend out over the crowd for about 80 yards of the field. No one is going die of heat stroke up there but they might drown.

Wow are you wrong about people not dieing from heat stroke up here in Oregon. Just a couple of years ago we had temps recorded at 116 degrees and people did die that day. Many people don't have air-conditioning in their homes because it hasn't been necessary before. It will be 90 degrees or more on Portland this weekend. So in short we do get hot temps up here in the northwest.

Now that we are experiencing warmer temps even in June when we typically had cooler temps and rain until around July 4th. If you happen to be at the OSU -SDSU in early September last year it was quite warm.

I like Snapdragon better. Probably has more to do with the concessions and individual seating.
But the game day atmosphere and the game atmosphere is by far superior at Reser.

77 degrees for the SDSU game up there last year--the average September temperature for Corvallis. Well I was in one of the corners of the end zones out in the sun and I can tell you it was much hotter than 77 degrees. By the way what is the average temp in San Diego in Sept? Bet it's in the 70's. If the average is 77 for Corvallis that means there are temps below that and above that. Having lived up here for 32 years I can assure you it can get hot up here in Sept.

Having a conversation with yourself? No just pointing out the obvious that it can get hot everywhere now days and one out lier day in San Diego two years ago doesn't justify spending millions for some overhangs at Snapdragon stadium. Look at the post previous and it might make sense to you.

Having a conversation with yourself? I do this all the time. I am the only one who listens to me. The wife, kids, animals, siri, etc. No one listens to me, well maybe the GOV.

Have been to both of our last two games against Oregon State there at Reser. The first pre-renovation and last year, after the renovation. It's a very quality college football stadium. Feels WAY BIGGER than that total capacity number. Comparing to Snapdragon is tough. Some areas like behind each end zone, the Snappy is much closer. Reser is much further back but goes way higher above the action so it feels big. Some areas like along the sideline concourses, Reser is much better for allowing fans to walk around the stadium and stay connected to views of the action. While the Snappy forces you to walk out into the concourses and around the field. Which is a bummer to me.
I love the Snappy because its ours. But the further we get away from the grand opening, it's starting to settle in that it is just not a college football stadium 100%. It's a multi purpose stadium. Until SDSU really fixes their branding mistakes and creates a much better game day environment Reser is the better of the two.

Aztecs games have been stale for well over 25 years now, even when they started winning there was no excitement/true fun game day experience other then the KGB sky show. *I remember the Fraternities chariot races on the field at halftime and Fight clubs in the Lower stands (entire game) were always fun to watch back in the day. Stop with the cheap cheesy promo giveaways and come up with a better game day experience.

Qualcomm was tough to deal with, and the Defense-only Aztec teams post-Lindley drained all excitement out of the program, sans the Penny Pumphrey couple of years. I pray Lewis does better in building an exciting team, while also winning. Snapdragon could easily be a great environment for CFB, especially compared to Qualcomm.
