I saw the news and thought the same thing... but then remembered UCONN's always had our number. At least it might put them in a rebuild for a bit.
If it goes through UCONN players have 30 days to enter the portal and find a new home. Unless some assistants stay, guys might want out and teams in need will start circling like vultures. Not sure if we can pull off one of their guys, but might create a ripple effect where we get someone who wasn't initially interested...

UCONN subsidizes their athletic department with $30M. This is how they compete. I am not hating, just putting out there that maybe State needs to up their direct institutional support to $30M from $15M.

sounds as if the Lakers are going to make the UCONN HC a very good offer
Do wonder and or hope if they do if SDSU could lure any players although I realize that numerous high quality schools will be doing the same
also could mean UCONN will be looking for a new HC and it could be interesting to see who they might hire and if there are further ripples - do not think Dutcher would be heading there

Apparently, 6 years/$70 million wasn't enough. According to ESPN, Hurley is staying at UCONN.

Apparently, 6 years/$70 million wasn't enough. According to ESPN, Hurley is staying at UCONN. Despite a storied Laker legacy, the Lakers have faced their share of challenges lately. With six coaches in thirteen years and constant roster turnover, it's been a rollercoaster. Recently, Jeannie Buss was ready to make a big investment, offering Hurley, $70 million over six years plus full control over personnel and locker room matters. However, the potential HC Hurley, seemed to take a hard pass after scrutinizing the organization's inner workings, staying at UCONN. (And for half the money $6 years at 33M.) Does this signal the Lakers are in dire straits? It certainly seems so.
