I purchased basketball tix through Boise St. in 2023 to watch the SDSU/BSU road game (the Aztecs last loss before running into UConn in the Championship). Now I get spammed on a regular basis from the BSU athletic department.
The email I received this morning was interesting though. Apparently, Boise St. is going to do a major addition/upgrade to their stadium.
* * * * *
The North End Zone Project will add approximately 1,600 seats and feature 12 field level suites, 44 loge boxes, 148 ledge seats and 882 club seats with all-inclusive food and beverage amenities on game days. The project includes club and terrace spaces that will also be utilized on non-game days, including a Training Table and nutrition center for all student-athletes to provide the fuel and education they need to best position them for success on and off the field. Future phases of the project will include build outs of a new football recruiting lounge and a new visitors locker room. Additional restrooms, mobile concession kiosks, an open-air sports bar and lounge area, and wider concourses will provide all fans with an improved game day experience through increased ingress/egress efficiency and greater concourse movement.

I was going to say... not great timing to be investing like that in the college football landscape, but they have a decent chance to make their money back based on this seeming to be mostly a 'luxury' / high end upgrade.

Do they need a volunteer to repaint the field? I'm thinking alternating stripes every 5 yards ... Red and Black of course!

That stadium is an erector set, they may be better off building a new stadium.

That stadium is an erector set, they may be better off building a new stadium. But, it was built cheap. Actually, I think they are doing the best they can, add some premium/luxury seating. It ain't going to get them to the next level, however.

That stadium is an erector set, they may be better off building a new stadium. Most of the stadium is concrete built in the 70s. Well, the sideline sections are at least. The endzones are more like temporary bleachers.

The endzones are more like temporary bleachers. It's a hodge podge stadium. It's a larger version of what Hawaii is playing in currently. There are just two stadiums in the MW that I like, CSU's and Wyoming's.

Guess they gave up on the plan to expand it to over 50k.

Having gone there for the 2022 game...
It's not what I expected, having seen it on TV. On TV it looks like dreary, concrete Soviet-style architecture. I figured that's what the blue turf was all about -- to keep your eyes on it, rather than the stadium.
But in-person, it wasn't bad. I especially liked the exterior, which looked bright, fresh, and welcoming. The concourse was decent enough. For whatever reason, the interior just doesn't work for TV. I think, if I'm playing Frederick Law Olmstead, the first thing I'd do would be to open up the north side so you have a view of the very nice tree-lined river. That would give it some panache that they can work with from there.

My buddy in Boise said the new area removes the erector set bleachers and build permanent luxury box seating. the new concourse will extend to the upper walkway of the training facility and add a club area below the seating, a large bar/ viewing area behind the seating plus outdoor concourse "party" areas.

Hodgepodge, yes a bit, but they have had a master plan in place for multiple phases of expansions to create a final product. "Infilling" the north endzone will make a massive difference.
