That's what I hate about the portal
There's rarely gonna be a returning all MWC QB. They're off to chase dollars

Let's say Arizona has two QBs that are competing for the starting job. They are close but they give the job to QB1, QB2 could transfer to State giving SDSU basically as good of a QB as Arizona. I think that situation played out with tackle Joe Borjon. He was taking some snaps with the starters in Spring Camp, started a few games last year, and would have been competing to start in Summer Conditioning. Some reports had him behind in the competition, he said he was working with the first five. Either way, SDSU and Arizona clearly have tackles near each other in talent.

for the most part P4 players will first look at P4 schools to see if there is a fit for them - then G5 schools

I’m still curious about our D-line and defense overall. It seems like offense is spoken about 2-3 times more than defense.
I know the expectations aren’t sky high for this year but I hope we are putting as much energy and effort towards the defensive side of the ball, as we are on the offensive side. Also I don’t recall a lot of information on special teams either.
Maybe it’s the media coverage that is shaping my perception but I hope we can get a more complete overall picture of what the team looks like in the next month or two.

as it is with most teams the QB is the main focus - and this season the new HC has brought in the FSU transfer and a former U of Colorado recruit - so that has been a very strong focus -
But the key for any offense after the QB is the OL - that is still a major ?
Defense - the key again is the DL - it has not been that good lately so a major ? and the new scheme
So while attention is usually on the skill players and they are primarily on offense -
IMO the keys are OL and DL

You are absolutely right about the OL. I asked the same question to Coach Lewis at a recent caravan gathering. His response was "you mean no matter how good the QB is it's very difficult to throw a pass when your flat on your ass"
yep

This is the exact reason I want relegation Because we're literally already at this point when it comes to players

College Athletics just happen to be highly monetized and in the public eye. Our jobs aren't. I'm certain you changed jobs. Were you forced to stay because of a non-compete clause ? Were you forced to stay because your clients were butt hurt ?

And the Pac2/MW merger is the best State will ever get. Because of the reasons stated. State is the 4th best NIL School in the MW. If the Pac had survived and we got the invite, we would be dead last in NIL. It is what it is.
