Sorry, but this accomplishment deserves its own thread (IMO)

He joins Litler as the only SDSU player with a major championship. Litler also had the US Amateur title (no long a major then) while Xander has the Olympic title. Litler lost in the playoffs of a Masters and PGA while Xander has numerous high finishes. Xander also now owns the best score in a round in the majors twice while also the best 4 round score. I'm going to give him the nod as the best SDSU PGA golfer right now.
His putting this past week was superb. He is driving farther as well and I do think of having the pressure of not winning a major off his back will allow him to play looser going forward. Now, if we can just find a way to have Scheffler arrested during each major that would be a help.

I think multiple majors are in his future. He has the game for major events: patience, consistent swing, putting, approach game.

I know he had some back issues last season, and he is working with new trainer this year. Just hope he's getting those problems behind him. 2. Putting. He putted well at the PGA and that is what separates the players - who has the hot (confident) flat stick? People think of Tiger and they think the "power." But, Tiger was a great putter and I think that came from the confidence he had in the rest of his game. But, Xander has a lot going well for him with his game as he is now #2 in the world. Damn.

I think multiple majors are in his future. He has the game for major events: patience, consistent swing, putting, approach game. And most of all he has the monkey off his back. Less pressure, which can be the release needed to start to add more. Curious how Pinehurst #2 fits his eye? Has he played well there in the past? Seems like a good course for his game but don't know his history there.

Seems like a good course for his game but don't know his history there. Don’t know that he’s played there recently or ever. Last Open was there 2014. Open conditions are generally the most demanding of the majors. I feel his patient approach will benefit his game. I think he has a real $#!+. Currently the third betting favorite after Scottie and Rory..
