Zeigler was pretty high on him during his Jon & Jim interview last night. Also pointed out how Mag was on a plane to San Diego right after his graduation so it seems pretty likely he will sign with them after the visit based on style of play and South Sudanese connections. Seems like he is an ELITE defensive player that can guard just about any position on the floor

Just need to avoid the 'season-ending injury' streak...

That's my biggest take away from reading up on him. Elite defense and can impact winning ball games. I saw some stats of Rutgers record with him in the lineup vs out of the lineup that seemed to verify that. We've got a decent track record of being able to work with a veteran glue guy that gets banged up and is of Sudanese descent... If he can play some 4 while Goon/Compton get up to speed in non-conference and have the ability to also play the 3 for depth sounds good to me.
Rutgers fans seem really salty he didn't come back from last injury, when your body is that banged up its got to be tough physically/mentally.

Yep, compare that to how Aztec fans treated Arop when it was realized he couldn't really practice with the team and only played in games. There's a whole lotta salt in Jersey.

Sounds like Arop when he was playing. I'll take that in a heartbeat. Arop is massively underrated, and his impact on a game was immeasurable. He was one of my favorites. Rock solid, extremely intelligent player and had some real basketball moves that would go unnoticed. I’d take a team full of Arops any day of the week and twice on Sunday! Hope Mag finds his way to the west coast to finish out his basketball career in the Red & Black.

I guess I don't like that he has put out a top 5 after visiting SDSU today...was hoping he would commit already!

He was a winner .... hustled, so intelligent, all effort... just found ways to make winning plays on both ends of the court. One of my all time favorite Aztecs

If we lose this guy to BYU…. 🤬 What is Southern Miss doing in that group? Is Brett Favre privately funding NIL players with Mississippi government money?

all depends on what is most important to him in his last year of college basketball
Are we getting into another NIL situation or ?
also would wonder if he wants to go to USC and play against the former BIG schools
BYU in the Big 12 is of course a conference with a lot of challenging opponents
Article seems to say SDSU was his first visit after graduation - so then trips to the other schools or ?

Every time Arop would get in the game he would immediately do something special - a steal, a block, rebound put back. He just changed the chemistry of the team. Just imagine how good he could have been if not for all the injuries he dealt with.

Took a quick gander at a Rutgers message board and found this post totally hilarious.... Eagleton96 said: Aren't we looking at an SDSU transfer? I wonder who gets more money lol.
Rucoe89 said: Kid visiting is from USD. USD is in the WCC that includes Gonzaga, St. Marys, USF, Santa Clara, LMU and Pepperdine. Their competition level is not Big Ten/SEC/ACC/BigEast/Big 12 level up and down the league, but still pretty good. UCSD is in Mountain West, which does have UNLV, Nevada and Fresno state, but arguably I think is the weaker conference up and down its roster.
Someone corrected him later on that it's SDSU in the MW, but nobody mentioned his ill-informed conference strength comparison. rutgers.forums.rivals.com/threads/mag-visiting-san-diego-state.277294/

I read it's only a dead period for in person visits, think it ends in a week. Teams can still communicate by phone or virtually. What's crazy is if a player is in the portal there is no deadline for them to make a move. Some teams might still be figuring out their roster heading to end of Summer.
