Yes, I'm not sure about the eagles putting him on the shelf. If he gets his weight down he could be good.

For some reason he gets hurt a lot. Surprises me since he was so durable with the Aztecs.

He had a very regrettable blatant holding call negate a TD and never really played again for the birds. They had Swift, Gainwell, and Boston Scott ahead of him on the depth chart. Scott was also a free agent and was signed before Penny. I wish him the best and am glad to see another team give him a shot.

Carolina - the last stop for NFL players before you are out of the league. This might be the last chance for Penny, and I sure hope he crushes it. When he is good, he is really good. But when he has been bad, it has been really bad. Either way, he has made some great coin and he should be set for life with good investments. Seeing that he is an AFL life, he is borderline genius, so I am sure he invested wisely.
Lets hope he has a great season! I have a hard time watching Carolina because they are so bad, but now I will have to stomach the pain and watch just to see Penny.

The RB room is crowded in Carolina, and at 28 years old Penny is the elder statesman.
Chuba Hubbard (returning starter), Jonathon Brooks (2024 2nd round pick), Miles Sanders (veteran), Raheem Blackshear (backup), and now Penny.

For some reason he gets hurt a lot. It's because he's a running back playing in the NFL. Just looked it up...the average career span for an NFL running back is 2.57 years. What is Rashaad at now...7 years? Dude has at least figured out how to get a payday far longer than the average.

I don't foresee Rashaad turning any corners in Carolina, either. At least the way he did here … He's almost run out of options. Too bad, he had such potential when he left, and he still has the talent. It has to be a frustrating way to end up, because time is rapidly running out on his "best if used by" date. He's not getting any bigger or stronger, but the rest of the league sure is …
