Dave V on radio notes

Was able to listen to Dave V on radio (might have missed couple minutes at beginning)

Some notes:
Feels lucky only 1 undergraduate left, pointed out that if not for covid parish/butler wouldn’t even have eligibility left. Zero ill will to the players that left, made it clear that all 3 situations were separate and not at all connected. Made it clear Elijah leaving wasn’t just cause of NIL but didn’t specify. All of the transfers came after conversations with coaching staff, they didn’t just find out about it on social media.


Excited for the newcomers, made it clear they view JCV as a 5. Made it clear they expect both Taj and Compton to play as freshman. Confirms we only have 1 scholarship left (which means no one not reported left). Made it clear they are going to fill that spot with a transfer, and not leave 1 open scholarship

I listened to the Podcast and wow do I feel better about everything. Dave V is such an upbeat guy and made great points. The Aztecs are going to be just fine and he feels they survived the portal in good shape. OK. Now on to football!
