I'm totally expecting the NCAA to be sued regarding roster limits (currently 18 with walk-ons)...this would allow well-financed schools to stockpile 20-30 MBB players...keeping those students away from financially challenged schools...
It's coming...trust me

What's coming is the armature status being taken away and the universities forming professional sports teams.

Makes you wonder who is pushing and funding the lawsuits. Smells like P5 connected money to me.

Real soon many of the Universities and Colleges are going to drop all sports because of this poop that benefits 5 or 10 percent of all college athletes who are primarily men. How many 1,000's of young men and women are going to lose their free education because of this greed. What ever happened to amateur sports?

My understanding is that Ivy League schools do nothing to encourage NIL They do not have organizations focused on NIL for their athletes. Perhaps other schools will adopt that situation if this continues. Many schools cannot compete on NIL. Perhaps they will separate from the schools that can.

They will drop most if the rest of the men's sorts then drop the equal number of women's sports ... don't forget Title IX.

With no ameture status, title 9 doesn't apply.

How will this effect graduation rates if a play goes into the portal every year and does not have to attend class?

I'm think that if these kids want to be paid like professionals they should try out for a professional team and leave amateur college sports alone. I know I'm probably in a very small minority who still believe this.
