I don't know the rules, regulations, and boundaries with NIL, but we all acknowledge we need some big time donors, to stay "relevant" in the NIL era we're currently in. Some ideas: ---Solicit local small to mid sized business as NIL sponsors - SDSU needs to launch a salesforce staff here ---Represent a company for the year - this is all about SDSU putting the corporate logo, name and image in our jerseys/branding - like Qualcomm, we get good exposure nationally, so that is definitely worth something ---Other ideas............

NIL is a fraud, and don't act like SDSU doesn't love it. They have somehow convinced fans to pay for their players when they could have done something like offering a more favorable lease deal to the MLS team with the understanding that they sponsor a NIL deal for their sports teams.
SDSU hasn't been able to get one of its corporate sponsors to create a NIL sponsorship because the school itself doesn't want to miss out on those dollars.

Alaska Airlines couldn't have been an NIL sponsor? Of course, they could, but SDSU wants the money.

More limited edition/serialized deals like the Blenders sunglasses deal are needed. That was publicized REALLY well (e.g. on Facebook, where MESA needs to up their game), timed really well (in March just before MWCT) and from what I heard they sold out in 24/48 hours.

NIL will still exist once schools can pay players.
NIL isnt getting the corporate sponsors because SDSU wants it all for themselves.

NIL will still exist once schools can pay players. NIL isnt getting the corporate sponsors because SDSU wants it all for themselves. State has to pay for a stadium and a while athletic department. They can’t and won’t turn down dollars. Eventually the Universities will pay the players and that will be funded by eliminating non profitable sports.

Here is an interesting idea for compensating schools when players transfer. There could be a rule implemented where if a player transfers away, their current school would receive a percentage of the total amount involved in the transfer, almost like a "finder's fee or development fee."
I suggest that this rule could apply to players like Parrish, Butler, and Saunders, where Mesa Foundation would receive a percentage of the transfer amount. Similarly, Mesa, in this case, would pay a percentage for players like CJC and Nick Boyd. The intake would be larger than the payment.
It's a brainstorming suggestion, you know, No Bad Ideas.

Meanwhile, the fans are literally paying for season tickets, stadium donations, and now player payroll. While the school isnt paying anything. Best thing that could have happened to SDSU. and by the way Memphis found a way with Fedex.

From the Albuquerque Journal taking about Toppin leaving.
"Though NIL funding is not public, the Journal has confirmed the men's basketball program will have in excess of $1.5 million to pay players in the 2024-25 season."
How is it possible that they have that much more than us? I know Lobo BB is the only real sports team in the state but still.....

I am thinking of starting an OnlyFans account and all proceeds with go to NIL. This should put us over the top! No recruit will be off limits!

Actually, this would be an NCAA violation and one easily proven. As Would giving favorable lease deals on the stadium you own to a tenant who then donates to your collective . if you want to cheat. At least cheat smarter. Fact is, if you have a quality program you won’t be able to keep your role players from being cherry picked. It’s not a good investment. Small donations are fine, but to keep or land a front line player you need big money corporations or private donors, hello John moores and JMI,. Then you fill in with high schoolers and journeyman transfers like Parrish
