Ziegler was on at 4:00. Excuse the text message style writing. Remembering what I heard as well as I can. There was some good info. Alludes to the likelihood that there will be some news in the next day or two:
Says it's still likely that we land either Sissoko or Colman Jones...
Raved about Colman Jones vast offensive game. Acknowledges that he doesn't play defense at a Sissoko level, but wonders how much better he can get in 6 months. Cited his 44% from 3, vast spin moves, dunks, etc.
Finally on Colman Jones, he mentioned that some P5 schools have started to get involved late.
Jones left town either yesterday or today.
Ziegler also states that a lot of guys are interested in taking Lamont's spot, but that they may actually look for a younger guy that would be content off the bench. Said that Biyd was brought in to be a starter and Byrd should start if he continues his trajectory.

I could see them showing him some Ledee tape, how they'd use him, selling what Ledee became as an Aztec etc.. I hope you're right. Possible, unless the almighty dollar gets in the way. Not saying money won't get in the way. It sure has hurt us lately, but there is a lot to sell here. Maybe we have more to offer with Butler gone and maybe we got in just in time. Ziegler did NOT say this, but the way he gushed about him, I suspect (my opinion only) coaches prefer Jones to Sissoko. Could be wrong. |

The idea of Sissoko seemed safer to me with his experience and known defensive capabilities. Excited to see what JCJ can do, his highlights show a great skill set.

Let's start with Mady seems to prefer CAL then you take a player who wants to be here .
Would guess that when JCJ visited Dutcher and the staff put him through the defensive things needed and he passed - by the way his brother played football DT for SDSU back in 2008

JCJ has a lot of moves on offense, pick and pop 3 point shooter, can post up, can take step back jump shots. Really talented, very happy with the pickup.

I love that he seemed to come here to get better on defense because he knows he needs that to go farther in BB. And he wants to go somewhere that wins.
