Here is a SDtimemachin replay, but what kills me is it really doesn't show the long pass over the middle that set up the field goal. I can't even remember the receivers name. Good memories!

Played in that game...and as a kid growing up hating YBU...was probably my favorite win as a player. Cried my eyes out. A bunch of guys got in a fight after the game...the fans were pissed and yelling at us . That was Lavell Edwards final home game (as I recall) and Lavell was a HUGE mentor to Ted Tollner, he REALLY wanted to win that game. The day before we had the worst walk through ever and Coach T dressed us down for 20 minutes on the field and in the locker room after he offered to let any one that wanted to quit to keep their scholarship if they just admitted they didn't want to play football. Coach T loved to do that. Nobody ever raised their hand obviously.

Took me a while to find it, and I had to get it from a game recap on the YBU page (yuck!), but here you go... Perhaps the biggest play was a 39-yard pass from Sheriff to junior wide receiver Derrick Lewis that took the Aztecs to the BYU 22 yardline with :12 seconds to play.

I went to that game! The TV broadcast had already awarded the player of the game to the BYU kicker for making their late FG to put them ahead 15-13! What a great come from behind victory.
Some good memories from that trip including... Four of us made the trip and put a couple of cases of beer in one of the girls suitcases as we heard that we couldn't get drinks in Provo. As her suitcase was coming down the conveyer belt at baggage claim, it's literally dripping as apparently some of the cans had gotten smashed during the flight. Her bag, and clothes, were soaking wet with beer.
I went out solo on the Friday night and found the only bar open, but when I tried to go in, the guy at the door didn't allow me to do so. He said I either needed to be a member or have a sponsor. There were a few other people standing outside having a smoke and I started up a convo with them. Turns out one was from SD and he ended up sponsoring me that night so I got into the bar and had a great time. I joined and became a member that night and then Saturday after the game, all four of us went to the bar and I was able to get my friends in as I was a member. And there we the exact same 40 - 50 people in the bar that night as there'd been the previous night as it was the only place to go!
Good times!

That's a pretty cool story, but it sure makes you realize how that town earned the nickname Provostan.

SLC local here. I had been at the local theme park with my friends and their son that day and asked another kid at the park who won. He said BYWho won, but it was a close game, so I finished that day pretty bummed. What a great surprise to hear we won later on that night:) So awesome. The whining on local sports radio after that was quite enjoyable. That 39 yd pass and catch to set that up was clutch as hell and the FG was perfect and indisputable. No chance for the weird Provo BS that usually happens to us there. I vividly remember one of our receivers clearly catching a pass in the end zone there with one foot down and it being called off a few years before, sooo, this was extra sweet.
