One thing I think we all noticed with UConn besides their obvious size and talent was their sophisticated Defense AND Offense. It would be great to bring in an AC who could bring an Offense that would be almost as efficient as our D Certainly, I believe we should explore potential offensive adjustments, provided we have the right personnel in place to fully leverage the chosen scheme. How that would work is beyond my pay grade.

nothing against this Coach, and it would be the same with Hutson, a Coach with this amount of accolades and experience, they are looking for the next rung up the ladder, and in short order. we need someone who stick around and possibly still be around when Coach V takes over from Dutcher. JMO.

In 2007, Kobe Bryant, having relocated to Newport Beach, sought out a workout facility he called the UC Irvine Athletic Department. Interestingly, the individual who shared the closest bond with Bryant at UC Irvine, dedicating numerous hours and early mornings to assist in his training, was none other than men's basketball associate head coach, Ryan Badrtalei. Over nearly a decade, Badrtalei played an integral role in Bryant's training regimen at UCI, collaborating with him across various facilities including Crawford Court, the Bren Events Center, the ARC, swimming pools, and the athletic training room. Here is his story and video. ucirvinesports.com/news/2020/8/24/general-kobeday-remembering-kobe-bryantwww.youtube.com/watch?v=3EyWGLEtam4

Bottom line how would you rate UCI's offense and player development? While I haven't been able to focus extensively on player development (and need more data), it's worth noting their impressive record. They stand at 289-178 overall, boasting a 62% win-loss ratio, and within the Big West, they hold a remarkable 162-68 record, achieving a 70% success rate. Additionally, they've earned two NCAA Tournament appearances (2015, 2019) and received three invitations to the NIT and two to CIT, showcasing their consistent performance and success. They placed guys into the NBA, but not lately.

Except for the stain of UCLA on his resume , this guy is impressive. Well, UCLA, under Wooden, did cheat (pay) to get players to go to UCLA. But now, cheating is legal.

so why has he not gotten more attention to the other openings that have come open in the West and are there any players that might follow him to SDSU
So now that there is a need for a 5 and a PG - any way SDSU could get an Assistant that could bring a player or two

I hope this individual can recruit a five which is always our need. We will usually get a defensive five lacking offensively. Now if we had an assistant that was like an Ewing (credibility)this would magically resolve the matter. My hope is Badrtalei will be successful and can bring something that can be leveraged. Sorry he looks pretty short so I don’t think he will be a big asset with the fives. One thing about Acker was he had size to him and I I believe instant credibility. This is also one item I liked about Mark Pope teams is that he could recruit the 5. BYU always seemed to have big guys. I hope this is not a lost opportunity and he has success with us.

Believe that UCI has a highly rated PG in the Portal Derin Saran (sp ) 6'4" - who is originally from Turkey - went to NC high school then on to UCI
or maybe SDSU could hire Joe Rahon as a coach from St Mary's if he had a good relationship with Mahaney ?
Not sure what assistant coach has a true 5 as a possible transfer
or does Hutson have any contacts or Tim Shelton or even DJ Gay ?
