Already being discussed in the thread with his name on it... can we maybe exercise *some* restraint and focus that discuss in one place, instead of repeating the same in several threads?

I'm more interested in Jared Coleman-Jones than Sissoko. I like the thought of a big who can provide more than just being a defender with zero participation in the offense outside of rebounding. We already have this in Heide. Jones is 6' 10" and 240 lbs, so he checks the size box. He averaged 2.3 assists, which is close to what we got from our guards last year. The guy can shoot and score at all three levels, and he rebounds well and averaged a tick over a block PG. He does turn the ball over a lot for a big, but so did Jaedon. Dutch and company could get him more engaged defensively than he was asked to do at Middle Tennessee. Sissoko could help, too, but he seems like a nice to have versus a more well-rounded big. With limited scholarships, we have to be surgical. I trust our coaches can get a more offensive-oriented big to play defense than vice versa. Sissoko has zero offensive game other than a putback dunk. It looks as if we are going to have a guard/wing oriented squad next year. So, a big who can get his own points with putbacks and backdoor cuts is valuable. I have faith in Heides' development. Dutch recruited him knowing he has ball handling and passing skills. My only concern is, he gets stripped a lot. I don't know if he has small hands or just needs to work on that part of his game ? Once a guy gets a rep for being easy to strip it's open season. Undoubtably Dutch has a track record of developing players. With Heide, specifically, it’s tough to even know the baseline, at least offensively, because he literally didn’t participate in the offense. We’ve barely seen him post up and attempt a shot. I don’t remember him ever taking a jumper even from under 10 feet from the bucket. Any points he got were on putbacks. I realize he wasn’t asked to do much on the offensive end. I’ll trust that the staff will get him up to speed but I do think we’d benefit more from a transfer that can provide some offensive at the 5.

Just a heads-up: All players must officially enter the portal before the May 1 deadline, but they're still free to make their decisions after that date. Consequently, we might see players switching schools even before the semester and finals wrap up for the spring term. As of now, there are only 7 days left until the portal cutoff. In the 2024 Portal, there are a total of 1,828 Division I athletes and 988 Division II athlete entries so far.
New players of all skill sets enter daily. D1 & DII players are now eligible to play immediately no matter how many times they transfer — as long as they meet academic requirements — after the association fast-tracked legislation to fall in line with a recent court order, two days ago.

Talk heating up that Mady is going to choose Cal, which is fine by me. I wasn’t too excited about him at all. We can and should be able to do better. New big men are entering the portal every day. Sounds like an odd situation, Izzo is in his ear telling him where to go.

Mad Dog Madsen and Mady Sissoko, a match made in BB Heaven. They both bring relentless hustle and a rugged, physical approach to the game, dominating around the rim, swatting shots, and tenaciously guarding opponents. As Mady Sissoko steps into the spotlight, he's poised to inherit the mantle of "Mad Dog Mady" or perhaps "Mad Dog Jr.," ensuring that this iconic moniker carries on for yet another generation of fierce competitors.

I haven't heard anything about Jared Coleman-Jones's visit. Does anyone know anything?
