I was shocked to see Z use the word “pass” when talking about Agee… that is exactly what happened, but he usually doesn’t say it so clearly “Pass” could mean multiple things though. Maybe he wanted an NIL we couldn’t reach and thus we passed on him. I don’t think you visit if you don’t already know what the NIL situation is.

You're gonna feel really dumb in a couple years. I'll trust Dutch over your observations. Sorry, yes I was referring to butter fingers Miles Heidi. I think Byrd has the a lot of potential, he makes things happen when on the court, has some Arope in him, good bball IQ. Skyler Spencer was butterfingered when he first started out - then he became probably our best post player ever. Not saying Heide will be Skylar's equal, but that's a really dumb reason to think someone's not going to pan out. For a true freshman post, I'd take Heide's overall production over most anybody else we've had as a freshman 5.

agree now with NIL being so prevalent for some guys - who knows what a "pass" might mean - especially if Agee also had other schools asking about him
USC does need to restock their roster so they have money and PT
In addition Agee might have wanted to play the 4 and SDSU needs a 5
Per Zeigler the two Bigs visiting this week are quite different - A BIG from the BIG that is a nice guy but not able to keep up with what MSU needs or a BIG from a Non P6 conference that does have decent stats but who knows about the competition ?
Would guess that the major Q for Dutcher who fits better and who might actually sign ?

I'm more interested in Jared Coleman-Jones than Sissoko. I like the thought of a big who can provide more than just being a defender with zero participation in the offense outside of rebounding. We already have this in Heide. Jones is 6' 10" and 240 lbs, so he checks the size box. He averaged 2.3 assists, which is close to what we got from our guards last year. The guy can shoot and score at all three levels, and he rebounds well and averaged a tick over a block PG. He does turn the ball over a lot for a big, but so did Jaedon. Dutch and company could get him more engaged defensively than he was asked to do at Middle Tennessee.
Sissoko could help, too, but he seems like a nice to have versus a more well-rounded big. With limited scholarships, we have to be surgical. I trust our coaches can get a more offensive-oriented big to play defense than vice versa. Sissoko has zero offensive game other than a putback dunk.

as Zeigler wrote in the UT - there are two very different guys coming to visit
Mady is the Big Body with BIG experience but not a major player when it came to scoring at MSU
JCJ does have better stats BUT the competition is much lower where he played
a big reason to bring both guys in for a visit and see how well they might do against Ledee and company if possible during their visits -
By the way what was the name of the big Body 5 transfer from either WSU or Pacific or some school in the West that transferred to SDSU - I think he wore glasses or goggles ?

True test for the Bigs - have them come for their visit and have them scrimmage some of the current Bigs and toss in AG

Heide has the potential to do great things. Really high upside. He was playing high school a year ago and throw him against the likes he played??!….of course we will see some growing pains. I believe he has the skills, mentality and mind to become a force for the team. I hope he gets his chance and makes the most of it.

Today, the portal showcases two intriguing familiar talents: Braxton Meah (7'1"/250 lb), who brings experience from both Fresno State and Washington, and Atiki Ally Atiki (6'10"/225 lb), a seasoned post player from BYU. Both possess formidable defensive powers as big men, excelling as rim protectors and rebounders, while showcasing more versatility on the court. While their scoring may be more restrained, they bring depth to any team they join.
I consider both of them as tier II players, they significantly could fortify any bench. In Meah's stint as a Washington starter, he was named to the all-defensive PAC-12 team. He's played 118 games in 4 years between programs. Notably, Atiki Ally Atiki's journey from Mwanza, Tanzania, to the London Basketball Academy and then to BYU playing 88 games in 3 years, speaks volumes about his dedication to getting better. The Aztecs were in his final 3 choices, before the BYU enrollment.
Both would bring us 15-20 minutes a game, 5 to 6 points and rebounds a game, plus a block or two and an anchor on the defensive side.
Our staff is familiar with them.

He couldn't really defend and was a foul machine. No offensive moves. I hope there is a big jump during the summer because I didn't really see it.

Sissoko has zero offensive game other than a putback dunk. It looks as if we are going to have a guard/wing oriented squad next year. So, a big who can get his own points with putbacks and backdoor cuts is valuable. I have faith in Heides' development. Dutch recruited him knowing he has ball handling and passing skills. My only concern is, he gets stripped a lot. I don't know if he has small hands or just needs to work on that part of his game ? Once a guy gets a rep for being easy to strip it's open season.
