" excels " ? do see he averaged 5 boards per game ( he only played about 15 minutes per game ) and think he averaged a half a block a game I do not know how much MSU was able to use their PF last year to assist him If he was a fantastic team mate ( had a better junior season then he did senior season ) then why would Izzo suggest he leave ? Would be interesting if Dutcher was able to have the Bigs scrimmage some with Ledee and AG .... to see how they size up Sissoko is a truly great rebounder. He would have ranked top 15 in country in defensive rebound% and top 200 in offensive rebound% if he qualified. The questions about rest of his game are fair but I’ll trust the coach that has won 7 tourney games in last 2 years. We can trust him but he still can’t necessarily get the guys he truly wants. As he’s said before, NIL has Dutch operating with 1 hand tied behind his back.

correct - the NIL situations hurt SDSU this past season as it lost a few 5's that valued the NIL money
So yes finding out who would be willing to come to SDSU with the amount of NIL money can be a deciding factor for a lot of players - especially guys that want to play the 5
Not sure with Mady if he being from another country if NIL as much of a factor
think another 5 from U of Washington entered the Portal - no clue what his NIL requirements might be
Very likely that SDSU might have passed on Agee because he may have wanted a good amount of NIL and he wants to play the 4
Recruiting is not the easiest for coaches with the NIL situation in fact about the most difficult part of coaching

After watching the video I like Mady even better than Agee. I was surprised at how smooth he looked on offense. He has some moves. With his big body and long arms he can be a rebounding force. He plays bigger than 6'9" and is definitely a 5. Plus he has lots of experience. He's a man. I'd be more than happy to land him.

Saw that too, hope it's wrong, but that account appears to be very confident Mady-to-Cal is a done deal. Time will tell, I'd guess an official announcement one way or the other comes by Friday or Saturday.

This guy seems to be making a mistake, he only has 1 year left to play in college after being a back up for the last few years.
He could go to a proven program in a proven system where he would be given the opportunity to learn and show off his skills and have a great chance to play in the post season.
Or he goes to a program that is in transition with a new coach and lacking in players with experience and a daunting travel schedule ahead of them.
Safer bet would be SDSU but look at what a couple bucks (NIL) can do to players? ? ? ? ?

If Mady goes to Cal and if we lose the second player that is visiting us this week then I would circle the wagons for either Braxton Meah (7'1"/250 lb) or my personal favorite Atiki Ally Atiki (6'10"/225 lb). Yes please on Atiki.
What is interesting is Big Max Lee Allen who went to San Jose state as a freshman and then transferred to Marist as a Sophomore last year had a good season and his size of 6’9” 250 Ppg at 11.5, FT 64.4%. FG 51.3% would have worked for us. He wanted to play here with Lamont. Would have loved to have this big body here. We had an open scholarship at that time which hurts even more.

Yes please on Atiki.Yes - both might be good for the Aztecs. Atiki is from Africa, so he may not be looking for any NIL money.

He can't personally benefit from NIL, but he can and apparently has built a school in his native Mali with NIL funds???

Yeah, those international players simply CAN'T get NIL $ (wink, wink) There's so little oversight that you just know some of the sleazier big-time programs are funneling dollars by overpaying American born players and telling them to kick a certain percentage to their foreign teammate(s). That, or they find some other way to get them the funds. Any time there's big money involved, and coaches and AD's jobs are on the line, there's going to be a dark underside.

Apparently Foreign players can now get NIL outside the NIL profess we know. There's already a workaround. Was hoping recruiting foreign players would be our "Moneyball", but ... nope. Poor Dutcher. I'd bet this will lead him to retire sooner than he might've.

Regarding NIL, it may be necessary to implement a salary cap. If a school surpasses this cap, they would either forfeit a scholarship player or pay a tax contributing to the conference NIL Pool. Presently, there are no boundaries or repercussions, resulting in the NCAA resembling a professional league with unrestricted free agency.

Probably would have to be part of a different thread, but yes, there are professional models out there that the NCAA could emulate. But this would require the colleges to start directly paying the players (which they should).

Logical, yes, but any factors that limit NIL opportunities for players are being struck down by the courts.

the NCAA was very tight with its rules on Money athletes could earn and transfers - So the players took them to court and won .
Now the rules are heavily in the favor of athletes and it is very difficult to take away things that are currently given to them - Multi Transfer and NIL money
So now schools that do not have rich sponsors or a big athletic budget have it even more difficult
originally it was P6 vs Non P6 - Now schools that can not raise a lot of NIL money or have smaller athletic budgets will have it even more difficult to acquire better players - or develop them then see the richer schools get them
SDSU had hoped that MM performances would assist them but NIL has leap frogged

SDSU get Verbal commitment from the other Big that was here this week JCD from is it Middle Tennessee ?
There is little chance to put the toothpaste back in the tube - the Transfer Portal No sit rule that got expended to allow multiple transfers - they have tried but think it was squashed
They did get a very small revision that now says that a Grad Transfer has to put their name in the Portal the same time as the other guys . Interesting that they ding a player who has gone to classes and able to get their degree yet let others slide
Wonder what Chad Baker 's GPA was when he left his first school
