If I had a dispensary in San Diego I'd be there with a slogan, "Get Slow With Aztec Fast"
How often is it gonna be on 4/20?
😂

I was going to attend, but they aren't going to have a traditional scrimmage. They are going to be doing 7 v 7 and then some situational stuff. I would be there if pads were popping, but not watching 7 v 7 and goal line stuff.

I prefer to see a real scrimmage with some situational stuff and not practice. It's just not my cup of tea.

Is it not enough to be there just to help support the program, and the new coaching staff? The full pad scrimmages under Hoke and Rocky weren't exactly excitement personified. Hell, I'm looking forward to just parking my car for ten bucks and drinking some beers on a sunny day with fellow 'Aztecs for Life'. I doubt I'll stay for the whole scrimmage, but I at least want to see those kids running some plays in person and see and hear all the new coaches.

Agreed 100%, except I'll be there for the whole event. Spring games/scrimmages haven't been the same since the old Red/Black game format was dropped a long time ago. Back in the day alumni players would come back to campus to play against the current team. It was really great seeing many of our old favorites back. The games were reasonably competitive for the first half usually. Rumor was the alumni's water containers didn't actually contain water. That plus the age and lack of conditioning for the older alumni lead to a sloppier 2nd half. Still was always something to look forward to. Of course, because of liability issues and such those days will never return. sigh
Still, I'm looking forward to see what the latest Aztec football team looks like, even if it's a very limited preview.

so how much of the 7 on 7 vs regular scrimmage ?
would think that a key element is the OL as a unit and same for the DL

in the interview with the HC
He seemed to be saying that this will be similar to the last practice for at least the first half maybe as mentioned 7 x 7
Then in the second half some things similar to a game and or have particular situations Red Zone offense vs red zone defense and other situations
It will be the offense in one color and the defense in another - So as in Practices Offense vs Defense
The 4 QB's are all getting reps and will see action
Asked about WR 's coming into the program via Portal guys that have shown good abilities #3 Ja Shaun Poke #4 Louis Brown IV ( LB4 )
His offense just takes a variety of things from numerous other offense and will try to take advantage of what the other team gives them
Aztec Fast - means getting up to the line of scrimmage and a quick pace and snaps quicker then most of the guys have played in before - guys seem to be adapting but this will be in front of local fans
There will not be a depth chart before or after the game - as there are not enough practices to fully evaluate the players -
So do not expect any true position depth charts until they are well into Fall Practices
He did mention that the coaches do check the Spring Portal for additional players - he would not say how many scholarships were still available .
He did not bring it up but there might be guys that might want to leave after going through the spring Part of practices as there are with many schools
