From the outside, it would appear the most likely reason for him leaving is money, in which case we don't have a shot. Or maybe he wants to play for a highly successful program with his good friend?

Maybe. That'd be great if that's the case. But apparently he's making $300K in NIL up there - seems crazy to leave that kind of money just to go play with your friend.

I also read him and Randy Bennet go back a long ways, and he initially affirmed he was staying after the season only to change his mind recently. That's why it feels like the only possible reason he is leaving is there's a bidding war going on and the offers are too good to turn down.

$300k? I don’t know why any kid wouldn’t stay the entire four years in college! The money at the next level will still be there after graduation (or eligibility is done).
Hard to pass up free money while living the college life.

zero in all you want. if the nil isn't there, neither is the player.

zero in all you want. if the nil isn't there, neither is the player. I disagree 100%! The right fit is is still very important for some Athletes. I'm not saying that $ isn't important, however not every single high profile Athlete is out for top dollar. If our sports program can provide some monetary help, I think we will still be able to pull some great recruits. GO AZTECS!!!!

Not every recruit is the same - some might make sure they get X on NIL . Others want the PT and exposure including the opportunity to not just play in MM but have a decent run
There are others who might not want to work that hard on defense as they know it might effect their offense - As Dutcher has said not every recruit is a good match for SDSU . Watch an Aztec game and you will hear you better play defense or if not then look for a different school
Dutcher has had an offense that at times there is no exact position so a player might learn to be able to create their own shot
Might add that some players have prospered willing to develop their game - Ledee is a prime example as was Malachi Flynn - used their Red shirt season to improve their game . But would guess that SDSU is trying to bring in an experienced 5 to be a starter
Some might bring up weather but think that is a little over played but also being a major city with things to do couldn't hurt

so is Mahaney also an option with Boyd and DuSell for a guard position any follow up with the PF that visited or other options for the 5 position Just...wait. Dusell is no longer an option. AZTEC TRACKER on X (Twitter) says he is OUT, and will visit Ole Miss, in the next couple of days. He was reported to be on the Mesa 4/19--4/20 and in Nevada (Reno) 4/21--4/22. Good news for SDSU and Nick Boyd? or is Dusell selling out to the highest bidder?

Based on what I’m seeing on Twitter, I think Boyd is about to become the newest Aztec.

People have described him as a quantity versus quality shooter. If we land Boyd we will get the shooter we are looking for. If we can get Agee then that helps us fill a need for a rebounding PF. If Butler and Waters comes back we will have a solid group. The question will be who is going to be our go to guy for scoring? This past season we were way too reliant on LeDee. Would like to see more balance in that department.

I know several guys that played BB there, 1 is a significant donor… plus a lot of friends who are alums and well connected there. A couple laughed at $300k when I asked.
