And the winner is from Sand Diego State University - J. Ledee
as many of us have been saying the Best Power Forward in the Country

But he wasn’t good enough to be MWC player of the year. Ridiculous. The MWC coaches can’t handle SDSU’s success.

In three head-to-head matchups, LeDee outplayed Osobor in two games, while one game was a toss-up. Despite this, MWC writers voted LeDee as the Player of the Year (POY), prompting speculation that coaches might harbor a little SDSU jealousy. Perhaps, after March Madness, they should reflect in the mirror and contemplate who truly emerged as the top player in the MW. Aztecs carry this conference.

Awesome, although I’m not sure if it’s such a great name for the award…

In fairness to the MW, LeDee did play worse in conference play then he did in the OCC and in the tournament. In conference play, opponents would just send 2-3 guys at LeDee, and the officials didn't blow their whistles nearly as much as they should have. Also,, LeDee isn't great at handling those double and triple teams. MW teams figured out how to scheme against him. Also, is it just me, or were the officials letting everything go against UCONN (on both sides)? Everyone was getting hacked and few fouls were called.

LeDee would get hit in the head and they'd give them credit with a block. That's why he did better at Viejas

I understand why some coaches gave Osobor the nod, and he was a better passer out of the low block. But LeDee was definitely the better player overall - a better shooter and was in far better playing shape to handle the extra minutes down the stretch. LeDee was 1A, Osobor 1B.

I saw where Osobor was listed in the portal and one writer for the Athletic I believe had him listed with SDSU for places he'd be likely to go. I believe that he will go to UW with his coach and would bet they can throw more NIL money at him. However, if he definitely wants a shot at a national championship I think we provide the better opportunity albeit with less NIL money. I think UW will struggle mightily in the Big 10 next year. No way Springer (sp?) can do a full rebuild again in one year like he did with Utah St. in the Big 10.

Also in fairness, conference reffing was atrocious, the at UNM/UNLV games where the home team miraculously got 10+ blocks each (when their season average was <5), all while mugging LeDee all game long, were especially egregious. The TV commentators commented often on it as well, so I'm not just being a homer.

I'm with you on the spelling Sprinkler ? ... Yes he will go with Sprinkles to Udub and will play well, he's a baller, but you are right, he's nothing without support staff. And that's where the rubber meets the road. I hate to say it but we did a so so job in supporting JL this year. When he passed out to the corner 3 shooter, boink was the result most of the time. Hopefully that will improve next year.
