It will only work if they funnel lots of those TV dollars into the schools that participate. NIT was pathetic, and many of the "invitees" declined to participate in the Not Important Tournament. While more games means more coaching and more practice, some big names like Pitt, St. Johns, Ole Miss, Indiana, Memphis and others said "no thanks".

This idea would work in December
Outside of the fans of those programs, who the hell is gonna watch power programs who couldn't even get NCAA at-large bids play against each other in the post-seaaon? 😂
An invite-only tournament in the early season amongst the best from these conferences would actually generate buzz and interest outside of mockery

Sounds like Fox is setting up a new tournament as a potential landing spot for if/when the Power conferences break from the NCAA.
