Dutcher knows what kind of coach he needs or wants to bring in that work with the current guys and players - in addition a guy that can recruit good talent for SDSU
would also guess that he will know if or what style of games he wants to schedule for the OOC and as we and others have learned for Non P6 schools your OOC can be as important as your regular season

I firmly support an annual Home & Home with LBSU as long as Acker is HC. YES, This could be a serious rivalry game for each program and like has been mentioned by others, it could open up recruiting and visibility for more fans of the program up in the LA area. This is as long as the HC (Acker) stays in place, Acker seems like a solid guy and could be a nice series to set up. San Diego State now can operate on a national scale, while Long Beach State (LBSU) is more regionally focused, even localized. Despite the appeal of their storyline, it will be imperative for the Aztecs to continue securing OOC games against Top 40 schools, both in head-to-head matchups and in multi-team event (MTE) games, particularly in the era of 20-conference games. Our OOC games may be cut from 13 to 11 or so, which means fewer cupcake games, and a greater focus on NET Rankings. The committee (**) will continue to use those games as a measuring stick. ** The twelve-member basketball selection committee is made up of athletic directors and conference commissioners throughout Division I men's and women's athletics with separate committees for the men's and women's tournaments. The committees consist of one member selected from each of the five autonomy conferences and three members selected from the seven highest-ranked nonautonomy conferences based on basketball success. The remaining four members are selected from the 20 other conferences. All appointments are for five years

Thoughts Coach Tony Bland may be heading to U of Washington - there have been rumors of him going to Long Beach or back to SDSU
