Does anyone remember that team from KU in 1988 that won the NCAA championship? They had Danny Manning a 6'9" power forward that could shoot from outside and 4 smaller guys in an era when everyone had a true center, PF, SF, SG and PG. Now most teams start 3 guards so our lack of size isn't as big of a detriment although I'd love to have a true 5 and slot LeDee at the 4. Anyway, getting a good feeling about shocking the world. I've read a lot national articles in the USA Today and elsewhere and no one is even mentioning the Aztecs. The USA Today wrote a long article about UCONN and their success in the tournament and never mentioned us and said how they might get tested by ISU or ILL and how that would be a good game. Of course they have won their last 8 tournament games by 15 or more points so I guess I get it, but not even a mention. Hope they look past us but my bet is Danny Hurley will have them believing that driving 85 miles and playing in their own time zone is somehow an advantage to SDSU since we only lost 3 hours and flew 2500 miles. Hell they even said how difficult it would be for Clemson to play in LA because of travel but it is always easier to go from EAST to WEST.
We don't care! Let's shock the world BABY! Go Aztecs!
