Let's shock the basketball world! No one, and I mean no one outside of Aztec fans is really giving us much of a chance from what I have read and seen on TV. Let's play a great game and give it our best. Win or lose, it has been one heck of a season. The Sweet 16 has always been my ultimate goal this season, and house money starting this afternoon.
Hopefully this won't be the last game in an Aztec uniform for LeDee!

My expectations aren't very high for today's game. But, we did beat the top number one seed last year. Why not make it two years in a row?

It will all depend on who shows up today - for both teams. UConn has a home advantage - which we know doesn't help with penalty calls or momentum. Still, almost the same circumstances as last year against top seeded Alabama, and they hung close just long enough to win by 7.
Will lightning strike twice? Why not?!? If the Aztecs play to their strengths, it really doesn't matter what UConn does.

I said to myself that I would be stoked if we made it to the Sweet Sixteen, and anything more than that is icing on the cake. I'm nervous, but I'm also somewhat content and won't be "crushed" if we lose. I like that feeling, because there have been times I've been crushed by some losses this year. Have fun Aztecs, and yeah, shock the world!!! |

UConn won all six games last year by at least 15 points and are drubbing opponents in similar fashion this time. Perhaps they're due for a bad game, one of those days when the shots simply don't fall. Maybe our defense can knock them out of rhythm.
The keys will be to keep LeDee out of foul trouble and make sure they don't dominate the boards.

All the pressure is on UConn. We are playing with house money so hopefully they players are loose and have a just go for it mentality. UConn is very good but we have a punchers chance and we play solid D so who knows!

Yeah same here in that I don't want us to get blown out by 20-30 points. If we lose by 10-15, I can accept that, but the less than 10 would be better. I hope we win though. . |

There have been bigger upsets in the tournament, but this one would be so sweet!
Literally, not 1….not 1 person in the media thinks this will be a game. That’s astounding to me, this is a huge opportunity for the program, I’m praying the kids show up and Dutch puts another moment to cover for his 30 for 30 show. I think he deserves one called “Coach in Waiting”!

I would say Waters and Parrish. They will need to have their shots fall. We can’t have a game like 1-7 from them as we have seen far too often. |

Bigger, stronger, faster, more skilled - they should win this one easily. Which would make it one of the biggest upsets in NCAA Tournament history if we win. Wouldn't that be Sweet?!!? |

I think we need Waters of the before conference play. That player could shoot off balance and make it, could shoot rushed and make it, could shoot 40+ FT in a row making all of them. I miss that player and want to see that player today. Parish and Saunders having their best games would also help. I think 3 of our last 4 games we have had a lot of contribution from players that had not contributed enough on offense this season. So we are playing better than we did for much of the conference play. Go Aztecs |

That was my first thought when I saw their stats from that last game. There's no way they don't come in here with their #1 goal being to shoot better than in the last game. Statistically speaking, it's unlikely that they have a poor shooting game again. Not two in a row. But it's not impossible... (Just highly unlikely.) |
