Watch tomorrow as they get swept again by a last place team.
As it was last season, the Padres really don't have what it takes to be a real winner.

Watch tomorrow as they get swept again by a last place team. As it was last season, the Padres really don't have what it takes to be a real winner. As of now, they look to be about a 500 ball club at best. Hopefully they can stay around the 500 Mark at the All Star break, and make a run in the second half. Luckily, the Western division teams aren't all that great either.

That's one word, not two. Creative license - look it up. Right next to artistic license…

Trust me, I can grasp excuses. Why is everything an excuse with you? No excuses. The team is not hitting the ball, and the bullpen has failed at times. Pitching has given the team a chance to win these last two games, but our bats have not come through.

Completely ignoring the three sloppy mistakes in the same inning and the insane bullpen usage late (again) is definitely a choice.

That was just the crux of it. Sloppy play contributed to our losses, as well.

That was just the crux of it. Sloppy play contributed to our losses, as well. Let's call it for what it is: This team has played uninspiring, lazy, sloppy, poor fundamental baseball across the board. The defensive miscues, the baserunning mistakes, the postgame excuse festivals when they are supposed to be playing for their late owner. There's no pride, there's no heart, there's no pulse. They aren't good enough to overcome managerial incompetence.

Nothing like having a 5'8" First Baseman. He's 4" shorter than Cronenworth and Kim has pulled Solano off the bag twice now with high throws the last two games when both guys would have been out.
Matsui was terrible again but there were four other things that happened in that inning that helped the Angels. Matsui got squeezed on a strike call that would have put him ahead 1-2 on the leadoff hitter. Instead it's 2-1 and then he choked. Kim got to the big bounding ball on the second hitter but threw too high for Solano to catch it without coming off the base. Profar totally misread a line drive with the bases loaded. So instead of a possible sac fly, it's a two-run double. De Los Santos had a wild pitch for the 4th run but Campusano didn't do him any favors by letting it go right through his legs. BTW, I think Campusano is now 0-26 since his last hit. Is it too early for Salas?

Interesting point, Profar can play first, although I think that you might lose more then you gain if you put Luis in left field.

Fernando Tatis Jr. against lefties this year has one home run and four RBI.

If Solano keeps hitting, our often-pathetic offense probably needs him. He is a lifetime .280 hitter but with no power and no speed(in 7 of the last 8 years he had zero SBs and in the other year he had 2) If not, Azocar in Left and Arreaz at DH. Arreaz is 2" taller than Solano but still not a big target.
