I wonder just how much Kevin Acee gets paid for covering the Padres for the U-T.
Accuracy apparently isn't a requirement, as he said the Padres hit 5 home runs tonight. Which was true--at least until the Padres hit their 6th HR of the game.

Or will they both remain sidelined for the rest of the series?
Freddy Freeloader probably has a more difficult road ahead, unless X Boogerts really injured himself worse than the Padres are letting on.
Both are necessary elements for their team's success … and neither of them is easily replaceable.

I predict the Mets give them a run for their $. The Mets were very fortunate in their season series with them, somehow they managed to get Taijuan Walker three times and avoid the top arms. Won't be quite as fortunate in a playoff series. Little did you know that Sean Manaea was going to magically turn into Mad Bum vs. Philly, while Nola gets roughed up. Mets about to go up 2-1 in the series with that vaunted Philly pitching giving up 6 runs a game. |
