17–3, and doyers are still batting in the 9th. What a schiztshow! Dodgers put up 37 runs in their series against the Marlins. Wow.

Not often two position players get to test out their eephus pitches.

… the only competitive games the doyers will play before the end of the season will be against the Padres.

Taking it one step further: Merrill will become one of a dozen rookies since 1900 21 years or younger to have a 5 WAR season.

You're wrong. Of course it does. Momentum's a thing. It can get people who were not real confident, confident again. You can get your stroke back against the weaker teams. So much more. Yeah, I'm going to focus on what's real and not imaginary things, personally. To further refute this silliness: Arizona has scored 277 runs since August 1st, the Dodgers have scored 234, the Padres have scored 215. Acting like LA is invincible is like a decade behind the curve. The Padres would be favored in a series against them. Lifetime against the Padres, Ohtani is hitting .188 with two home runs in 21 games. I realize clichés are all you can have sometimes, but come on. And the corresponding records over that same period...Arizona is 26-17, the Dodgers are 27-16, and the Padres are 28-15. The Dodgers won the season series over Arizona, but lost the season series against the Padres. Padres and Arizona currently tied in their season series, with Arizona currently holding the tiebreaker (with the tiebreaker being irrelevant, as SD and AZ still have to play 3 more games--meaning the 1st tiebreaker, head-to-head, will decide their seeds if they finish in a tie). I like the Padres chances.

I don't, specifically there. Padres still better on the road than at home. Arizona is by far the best hitting team at home. It's not close.

Padres still better on the road than at home. Arizona is by far the best hitting team at home. It's not close. We have the second best road record in MLB at 45-30, second only to the Yanks 47-31. Should be an exciting series. Arraez is a much better hitter on the road then at home.

You're soooo predictable. I never said, nor do I think that LA is invincible. I said that I feel like their offense can carry their pitching if it falters. That doesn't mean their going to win the WS. Sheesh. You live to argue, just for the sake of arguing it seems, with some of the ridiculous stuff you post and try to tag on people. Get a grip, please. Yeah, I actually think the D'Backs are more dangerous than the Dodgers, and I also think the NL is up for grabs. Too many good teams on there. Let's look at the most runs scored in the NL in the last 30 days, which is what I like to go by. Well looky here, it's Arizona, and then the Dodgers. The Padres are a ways down there, unfortunately. How about the most runs scored per game in MLB this year? Well look here, the Dodgers are 2nd behind the Yankees. You see, you can manipulate anything you want to fit your narrative/opinion, and you do that A LOT, unfortunately, but it's really easy to diffuse.
