Everyone i’ve run into online suggests it’s a good hire and lauded. Now this doesn’t automatically mean it will work but silly to call wicker incompetent based on this.

Obviously SDSU doesn't care about football. We all love you.

Good Lord he's awful. Sanders benched him during the season for his horse**** play calling. Wicker is incompetent.

Good Lord he's awful. Sanders benched him during the season for his horse**** play calling. Wicker is incompetent. Colorado went from averaging 32 points per game to 20 points per game after the demotion. Lewis' offense also put up 36 points against Tony White's defense. Seems like the person that is incompetent is Sanders.

Obviously SDSU doesn't care about football. Here's a new template for you so that you don't annoy everyone... "I don't like X decision because Y. I would have preferred Z decision because A."

Seems like a solid hire, did a good job at a complete deadend job (kent state). We will see the staff he can get around him. Agree… is there a worse job than Kent State… He is… Young - only 37 OC - has a strong offensive record HC - has built a program from scratch, KSU was and is terrible Solid Well, he does tick the offensive need box. I believe one of the backup QBs fro Colorado is entering the transfer portal. Could it be...? I do hope we sign a good DC to help him. Given he likes to move quickly staying with the 3-3-5 makes a lot of sense. Teams may have to pass a lot to keep up. Don't know enough of Lewis but I do like his level of experience of Marion's. Will be interesting to see who he brings in with him.

I thought the CU offensive line was one of the worst in the country? But Lewis would seem to trust him, and they did a good job together at Kent State... so it makes sense to me. But, coming here on lateral move for less money? He comes here to be OC and Oline.

I was pretty meh about this hire at first, but reading the Reddit comments from people around the country is getting me more excited about our new head coach. You rely on Reddit comments to form your opinion? Obviously you’re only being a troll and purposely being stupid to get a rise out of people. No, I did not do my own research because this is football. I have young children to take care of, help with their schoolwork, take them to sports practice, and work around the house. I’m not going to sit around watching football games all day and making spreadsheets.

We don't have those pieces on the perimeter at the moment. We are going to need to go hard for some receivers and QB. No, but they will want to come now that we have an offense that showcases them. Look at the offensive output Colorado had before his demotion. I love the quick hire. Should help us tremendously. Yes, was worried we would hire someone who wouldn't be 100% on our program. Yes, he will get some people here on offense who wouldn't normally come here. Hopefully, his hire keeps some of our players and recruits here.

Also "writing on the wall". Does he think he has much job security after his boss was just demoted by Prime to make room for Shurmur? I think zero chance a Sean Lewis 'loyalist' would be retained after this season.

One more note, 4 out of the 5 years at Kent State, the defense was 112, 116, 121, and 108 in total yards. The one year they were inside the 100 they finished 79. So just want to make sure all the bored season ticket holders don’t like boring winning, please be sure to renew if we lose 49-45 in exciting late night games. Defense is not just having a good DC it’s a DNA and cultural mentality. You have to practice it everyday with a tough line of scrimmage mentality. It’s difficult to create that mentality with wide open offense throwing the ball 30+ times a game. Case in point is USC which has talent but the offense mentality kills creating defense mentality Totally get the point... it's a reason why I think getting Gonzales or Arnett would be huge. Guys who have already built/managed that culture of defensive toughness at SDSU. Still it's hard to totally compensate for the undeniable overall cultural emphasis on offense, but I think those guys would do it better than anyone else. Arnett might come if he would take over for Lewis if he gets poached. I think he wants to either be a DC in the P4 or HC in the G5.

Colorado has lost 2 QB commits recently. Do we dare to dream?? You may have a shot at O'Neil, but probably not.(edit. Scratch that. Good chance he follows Lewis) I'd hate for it to happen - but maybe he brings our QB2 Ryan Staub with him - big upside and you'd be happy. I've only read this one page - don't have the time. Wanted to stop by and congratulate you guys if this ends up getting done. I think he'll kill it at SDSU. You guys should have been dominating the MWC forever and I'd put money on Lewis getting you there. You're going to like the way he talks and presents himself. As for what happened at CU. He's not fully to blame for the lack of adjustments when defenses figured him out. He needs a running QB in his offense. He doesn't really use the TE and it hurt with how piss poor our OL was. And yes, I put a lot of that on O'Boyle the OL coach who brought in a lot of that OL. Don't put much stock in the difference in the numbers. Start of the season vs. lesser competition and not having tape vs. having tape. Don't have the time to say too much - bottom line. I am a Sean Lewis fan and love the hire for you guys. I'll tune in going forward because you're going to be a fun program to watch. He insisted in bringing O'Boyle with him to CU, assuming it's going to happen here too though. But shouldn't be a deal breaker or get you guys too wound up IMO.

OK, but we have to see. I'm still hoping to keep Lindley as QB coach just to see if he can grow into a good coach. But, I really want to see us spend money on a good DC and that means also keepong Mattix and LBer coach at his DC level. I spent too many years watching the Chargers after Fred Dean left win games by having the ball the last time. I do like good defense and think the 3-3-5 works well with an offense like this.
