we better find an actual quarterback that actually has a real arm reeeeeeeal quick if our slot guys are going to be lining up in gucci row. agree. without knowing the full candidate pool i don't hate it, but it doesn't scream "we had people knocking down our door". Well it is known as “the cradle of coaches” For what it’s worth I have somewhat amended my initial reaction. Excited to see what he does - optimistic we can get back to being the big fish in a small pond.

This guys energy, passion, and desire are off the charts. I harken back to our/my head coach … Doug Scovil. You could never find more polar opposites. Coach Scovil, with all due respect, should’ve never been a head coach. But he looked good in a trench coat...

Sounds like a funny thing to say but I like his stature as well. He clearly stands out among the team.

[edit] But seriously, I don't think it's 'funny' at all. His physical presence helps him REALLY command an audience. It's very hard to NOT pay attention to a 6'7" dude talking to you... esp. when it comes with his level of energy and enthusiasm.

Since I highly doubt we'll ever, at least in my lifetime, be a big fish in a big pond, I would be thrilled to be the big fish in a small pond.

A least there is a a path to the big pond the expanded playoffs

Sounds like a funny thing to say but I like his stature as well. He clearly stands out among the team. ....along with a basso profundo voice to boot. Hopefully it's not too intimidating when he gets pissed.

It's hard to recruit for the 3-3-5.

It's hard to recruit for the 3-3-5. It’s actually easier, but carry on.

Not to put the cart before the horse, but I hope he has a hefty buyout clause if he gets poached.

According to the UT, "Lewis must pay SDSU if he departs before his contract is up. The buyout provision calls for Lewis to pay $5 million if he leaves before Jan. 31, 2025; $3 million if he leaves before Jan. 31, 2026; and $2 million thereafter."

To our new coach. Please, in press conferences do not say, "We need to coach better and/or we need to play better." If I hear that kind of thing one more time I think I'm going to have an embolism!
