Right, and Man’s wisdom is God’s foolishness.
Jesus died and was reportedly resurrected 33 AD. You are arguing it is implausible that accurate accounts of his words and deeds cannot be documented and written down 35-65 years later? Let me use a contemporary example. If Dan Foutz or Willie Buchanan were talking with you right now, and they told you some stories about Don Coryell, would you treat those first hand accounts with skepticism?
How about this guy? Did he exist?
At the heart of it all is can you accept Jesus into your life?

Let's see, we have photographic and video evidence that Don Coryell existed. Moreover, I saw him in person, but even if I didn't there is actual EVIDENCE of his existence, not fourth hand stories that cannot be corroborated. You believe without evidence, without ANY kind of proof whatsoever. People you trust told you he existed, so you believe. It's written down in a book that was written long after his supposed death by people who didn't really meet him personally (the books in the New Testament were not actually written by the people they are ascribed to - they were written down a couple generations later from hand me down, word of mouth, telephone game stories told verbally). FYI - there is no God. If you use the critical thinking skills you were supposed to learn to use in college you'd recognize that there is no evidence of God's existence that would be admissable in court or accepted as scientific or historic fact. It's just a bunch of stories passed down through the centuries. Stories that, if you think logically about it, make no sense whatsoever. You believe because people you trusted told you God exists. These people you trusted told you that the Bible is a history book, when it is full of contraditions and obvious fabrications. There is no God, and no Jesus. Sorry. You cannot provide one shred of evidence that holds up to legal, historic, or scientific scrutiny.

Religious people are fine with me . .but when they beleive crazy stuff like the Earth is 6,000 years old, and dinosaur and man walked the Earth at the same time...then I'm suspicious / judgemental. The new Speaker of the House believes that, so I can't be anything but not trusting anything he says or does regarding policy...since it may be based on crazy.

If four of Coryell’s contemporaries (Foutz, Buchanan, Dryer, Jim Hart) wrote a collection of Coach Coryell’s sayings and philosophies today, would you have any reason to doubt the credibility of their recollections of 30-60 years ago? The answer is probably not. That being the case, it is certainly possible that the Gospels which were written a similar time interval would be similarly accurate. Matthew and John reportedly lived and traveled with Jesus, so at least their accounts are firsthand.

Just dabble in it and put one foot forward towards atheism and then he's got ya.

Disciples of their disciples did, based on stories handed and embellished down through the decades. Ever hear of the telephone game? Imagine that on steroids. Stories about Coryell are easily verified by interviews, television sports reports, and firsthand accounts (as opposed to third hand accounts 30-60 years later).

I went to church as a kid and teenager. People I trust are Christians. But I used my critical thinking skills to figure out the facts and realized that there is no God.

I bet he's been in a church for weddings and funerals....and that's it. If trump is a Christian..Im Jimmy Page!

The Dead Sea Scrolls are a perfect example of the authenticity of the scriptures. They were verbatim to the books that were in them.

"Authenticity of the scriptures." Dead Sea Scrolls. Uh-huh. Again, no evidence other than (then) 30-60 year old word of mouth that had gone through an early version of the telephone game before being written down. Fables that got bigger as time went on. Critical thinking is important.

And Jesus cried out and said,
“He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore, the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me."
