Perhaps. Where do you draw that line? It's easy to legalize something like marijuana that doesn't have negative health effects. Legalizing opiates could be a good thing, if people are taking that instead of dying from fentanyl. But then you have to figure out how to legalize that in a manner that is still controlled - ie. I don't think that you want a lot of people trying opiates just because they are legal. Opiates have a lot of bad health effects. I am old enough to remember, mostly white middle to upper class, people at parties making fun of and looking down on "primative" cultures that would fragment ..due to drugs and alcohol. Inuit, native Americans, Brazilian endemic peoples etc. This was due to rapud changes in society and technology that thryy could not deal with. Haha...the Mexican cartels took advantage of a weak cultural / societal situation in America. bull$#!+!! the American medical infrastructure was handing out opiates like candy for many years!! They were making money handing over fist. Areas of America that were dependent on lumber, coal, farming etc. suffered changes they couldn't deal with. These communities were candy from a baby easy for the opiate buis. in the US. I sprained my ankle playing hoop in the early 90's. 30 days of vicodin was standard then. So, revenge of the "primative" cultures? Or, are we more alike than my parents generation ever wanted to admit? No doubt, it was horrible what Purdue Pharma did. But what the pharmaceutical industry started in the US, now the cartels are supplying. There are a lot of people hooked on opiates, and now controls on prescription pharmaceuticals are super tight, so the cartel is filling that void. Legalize opiates and that would hurt the cartels big time. But I think that you want to do it in a way where there are extremely strict controls on how it is sold (and advertised). Force people to get registered if they want to buy opiates. Then you can target them with content related to the dangers of opiates, rehabilitation, etc. |

Having the government shutdown for a few days is hardly the end of USA. It’s happened several times before, we will survive. On the other hand, allowing 8-10 million illegals to sneak across our border, yes that can and will be the end of our country. Meanwhile Charles Schumer and AOC are asking, “it Texas blue yet?” Right on. I did read the sick reply from the no-it-all keyboard bully. I'm beginning to think IT is a stalker, perhaps a dangerous stalker. The admins should take action stopping the obvious disregard of rules. Glad IT doesn't know who I am. |

Again, reasonably speaking here, there was legislation in place to help combat this "crisis" and the Speaker of the House admitted it was tanked because of Donald Trump. If Biden was 118 years old and on his deathbed, I'd still vote for him over a soon-to-be convicted felon who sold out our country and was found liable for raping a woman.
