RIP to the individuals who lost their lives on this submersible vessel. They knew the risks, but it's tragic. May God be with the families during this difficult time.

Wild story. I can't believe they agreed to go down in that thing knowing it was jerry rigged together.
-Controlled by a Logitech playstation controller that was connected via bluetooth -they used carbon fiber in the hull instead of legit alloys used for those kinds of subs -the device had tested the absolute max depth 2 other times, so the wear and tear on it was already there too
I definitely feel for them and their families, but it just blows my mind that the CEO/founder (who went down with them) was that stupid, knowing exactly how sketchy it was. Going down in the deep sea is like going into space. If anything goes wrong you're screwed, so how in the world would you not make it as perfectly built as possible. It cost him something like 800k to build, whereas the one that James Cameron went down in cost like $40 million
RIP to them all. I'm glad it was a very quick implosion where they probably didn't even know anything was wrong before it imploded in a millisecond. It would have been even more brutal in my mind if they were just waiting out their oxygen at the bottom of the ocean somewhere. Or even worse, bobbing at the surface without the ability to escape the vessel

Yeah, and I would never allow, or pay for my 19 year old son to go on that vessel, since there's very good odds that it would turn out catastrophic.
There had been many complaints about it, and not enough testing. Somebody who had previously went on the excursion to the Titanic, had said that everyone was absolutely told how dangerous it was. That it could be a fatal situation. Almost 50/50. Absolutely ridiculous.
You basically had to sign your life away. The vessel wasn't even certified. It's a no brainer not to go it, unless you're terminal, in my opinion.
Like I said, I do feel sorry for the passengers and their families, but they had to know the risks.

It kinda feels like the Space Shuttle Challenger all over again.
