I don't want to interrupt the busy work of making fun of last names, but.... Not a lot new in this podcast, but there is good content anyway. I particularly liked the discussion of scheduling and rivalry pairs. In Wilner's view, SMU and Colorado make a natural pairing due to CU's reliance on recruiting Texas (apparently they recruit there more than any other PAC school). He thinks that SDSU and Utah have enough history (dating back to the WAC) to make them a more logical rivalry pairing than The Utes and Buffs currently do. I seem to remember that we had a lot of one score margins in football games against Utah. |

Yes, we had some blow-out wins, and losses in our games with Utah. I just remember so many close games. I just looked it up and was surprised at how many close games we had with them back in the WAC and MW games. I remembered a lot of one score games, but was also surprised that there is only game in this list that is as much as 7 points difference.
Aztec scores first, of course.

Just returned from the Aztec Football event at Snapdradon. Fun event with nice access to all of the coaches. Tight-lipped on PAC media and expansion though. Sorry, no news. Not that I thought they would, but I hoped anyway. Oh, well should know one way or another in about two weeks. Cheers for now.

Did Hoke have anything to say about his football team? He said they (staff) are excited for this year's team. That is it. He then introduced the staff. He spoke about NIL and the transfer portal. Basically, he doesn't like it but he says we have to be highly effective in leveraging it if we are to continue getting better. Mentioned JR and his efforts towards establishing and growing the Aztec Football NIL collective. - Aztec Link. |

Given negotiations are so secretive I don't give these reports much cred, but damn I'd love everything about that deal except it's length. I'd expect to end a year before the B1G's does, but who knows? Maybe it has performance-based options on either side. |
