I'd file this article under "Duh..." He should also mention that Brady isn't the only coach out there with Ann Arbor as his ultimate career goal. Brady's not looking to bolt - but I don't expect blind loyalty from him either. For now, he's our coach and I'm damned glad of that. Sums up my sentiments exactly. We've always known that this was his dream job. With that said, it was already reported in his extension article so it is a head scratcher as to why is is written about again, now. I am of the mind that if he goes to Michigan, that indicates that he was successful here. I've never expected him to be the permanent Guy, so were many psotters here,if you all recall.

dreadhawk, sorry to single you out. Its not yer fault. You're just young and stupid. We all were. You'll grow out of it. And yep. I've been drinkin'. MOONSHINE tonight! Nice move right there. When you realize that your argument is invalid, start making personal attacks. The fact is that you can be an Aztec supporter and also realize that reporters aren't paid to sell tickets or make sure the timing of their articles suits people like you. People who think Brent has it out for the Aztecs are ignorant and funny. If it weren't for him we may still have Schemmel as our AD and the BYU replaygate may never have come out. Man up and realize this is big boy journalism. Everything isn't rainbows and unicorns.

You have to wonder why this was written one week after he essentially wrote it within the extension article, with a Hoke /Michigan sub-headline. I don't see the new angle or journalistic purpose in the repeat of the story. Someone explain that to me. The old Weber quote we already heard before? Just wondering... help me here. Big boy journalism = Purpose, timing and newsworthiness, n'est pas?

Yea, I really do not see the point of this article. All of us should have higher aspirations than our current station in life.

It doesn't make us feel good at all but the UT put it in the paper DELIBERATELY! That stinks. How can anybody defend this when it is a total buzz kill?

What a great article! It tells us information that no one knew before the writing of it - about how Hoke would like to coach at one of the best programs in the country. How Hoke's name is sometimes mentioned as a second tier consideration for the Michigan job if were to come open and, lastly, that having no decision on the current head coach at Michigan may or may not mean something about the job's availability. Where does he get that insight!? Its amazing!

Bad timing on the UT's part. They must get a good kick out this: taking the wind out of the Aztecs' sails, especially when things are improving.
I've said it before, the UT is comprised of Carpetbaggers with no allegiance to the SDSU program and are probably full of Pac-10 honks.
I heard the UT is losing money, blame bad karma or the fact people don't buy their newspapers.
They're blinded by the notion that "good news doesn't sell papers." So, they'll keep hating on the program thinking they'll get readers.

The UT is a POS. Since this is old news that everyone already knew, why bring it up again and now? it will only create anxiety with potential recruits and sinister pleasure for the writer, nothing more. Its simply a twist on yellow journalism and all it does is harm the program. I hated this article because it made me feel like we are a stepping stone but I did not see it published before or see Hoke quoted about this. I suspected it but did not see it come out of his mouth. I hope this does not slow down Poinsettia bowl tickets.

You've been embarrassing Aztec fans for ages on the MWC board, now you're embarrassing yourself here. I'm sorry, your old, lonely self can't take the truth. Stop reading the UT if it makes you cry. Intelligent Aztec fans want to be informed. Old, stupid "everyone's out to get us" fans like you want to stay in the dark. I legitimately feel sorry for you for spending your Friday nights drinking at home on the internet.

They're blinded by the notion that "good news doesn't sell papers." So, they'll keep hating on the program thinking they'll get readers. That is outright 100% false when it comes to the sports page. People like reading about their team winning. When the Aztecs lose on Saturday, we spend Sunday avoiding thinking about it. When they win, we spend the following day reading every game story and watching YouTube highlights. Seriously, this board is full of BYU-fan-caliber whiners.

If the facts are correct then it is better for the AD and Brady to deal with now and Aztec supporters need to know if there is an escape in his extension . Trust our AD has a back up plan- if we will need a new coach and how to handle recruits. Anticipate rather then react. Send emails- in professional manner to the editor

that's probably the reason right there, journalists want to create buzz with a 'scoop', even if this wasn't exactly groundbreaking (and that's not exactly 'buzz', but you can't blame him for trying) not really a big deal in my opinion though

Hoke aspires to coach at Michigan but would Michigan even want him? Exactly. I trust Mike Huguenin a helluva lot more than some unknown poster on the link attached by one of the comments to the article. According to Huguenin, what he's hearing is that Rich-Rod hasn't been fired because Michigan wants Harbaugh and Harbaugh has told them he won't discuss leaving Stanford until after the Orange Bowl. With Harbaugh's success, I think he has that much leverage right now. I also think it's too early for very many NFL teams to discuss hiring a coach so by telling Michigan that, Harbaugh can wait and see if he gets any offers for the REALLY big money. So if Huguenin is correct, Michigan will start negotiating with Harbaugh on or about January 2, they will make him an offer commensurate with the best anybody in college football has, and if he accepts, Rich-Rod will be fired. Since it's almost certain Harbaugh WILL accept unless he's gets an offer from the NFL, I think Rich-Rod's continued tenure will depend on that. So no way do I see Hoke going to Michigan in 2011. However, I think it's quite likely that if Harbaugh goes to the NFL, that if Rich-Rod doesn't win at least 10 games in 2011, Hoke will leave SDSU for the Michigan job then.

Trust our AD has a back up plan- Hopefully that backup plan isn't to hire a head coach all by himself like Jeff Schemmel did. Nor to use whatever process was used at WSU since Paul Wulff has actually made Chuck Long look good in comparison.

I think anyone who believes the article will have any effect on ticket sales needs to quickly see a mental health professional.

It's good to have ultimate goals in life. Mine is to own race horses and hear Trevor Denman say my horse is "moving like a winner". It doesn't mean it's going to happen.
Give it a rest, Brent.
