Former 5-star, 6'5" 180 lb. Gonzaga Transfer is picking up steam and interest at SDSU (according to press/social media) and thought this prospect deserves his own thread.
The list of schools that contacted Sallis is long including: Arizona, Arizona State, California, Creighton, Dayton, DePaul, Drake, Georgetown, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi, NC State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, San Diego State, Southern California, St. Johns, TCU, Texas A&M and Wake Forest.
Sallis' mother, Jessica Haynes lead Omaha Central HS to two Class A state basketball titles + played for San Diego State. Haynes' cousins include basketball players James Harden and Ron Boone. Hunter is the brother of celebrity hairstylist, Tokyo Stylez.
At the time of his Zags commitment, Sallis was the highest rated recruit in GU men’s basketball history and the first five-star basketball recruit in Nebraska history. Alongside Jalen Suggs, Chet Holmgren and Zach Collins, Sallis is the fourth signee in program history to be named a McDonald’s All-American.

With Dixon-Waters committed, I don't see Sallas coming. Too few of minutes between Butler, Trammell & Davis + Parrish, Dixon-Waters & Byrd.

We are losing Bradley and Seiko so another guard isn’t out of the question with another scholarship open now.

We are losing Bradley and Seiko so another guard isn’t out of the question with another scholarship open now. My guess is another guard would be a sharpshooting 3 and D guy that knows he's coming off the bench, like Seiko. Also just guessing DJ Davis could have filled that role for us (from Irvine), but wasn't too excited about being a bench guy. Could be wrong, but that's my feeling. I do expect a sharpshooter from 3 to be our next and last guard transfer that will come off the bench. Could the Princeton sharpshooter still be a target?

Here’s the thing… Bradley was really a big guard for us, so Sallies could still be an option since we sorta kinda started games with a 3 guard lineup. I also LOVE the local kid from Princeton. He is 6’4”, is a proven winner, team guy, and is a pure shooter which we often lack and currently lack in the backcourt. But we ideally/definitely also need 1 legit 5 Love this stuff, very exciting

The latest have Sallis looking at two home state teams; Creighton & Nebraska, others say Wake Forest & Georgetown are in the running. Both Louisville and Michigan have reached out too. Sallis is a 5-star palyer, elite defender, but hasn't put up many points in two years at Gonzaga.

Not necessarily anything close to Seiko's D, but definitely better than Seiko's O. The fact it'd be a 1-year rental would avoid "stacking" above our youngsters.

He didn't show up in Miya's top 200 so just assumed he hadn't entered yet. I heard he WANTS to be here. Whether the coaches see him as a fit is TBD. I think a 4 & a 5 are the priority right now (Allick, Batcho). Whether they'd add a 13th is probably TBD, although if Heide RS's that's keep it down to 12 available, which is Dutch's preference.

Very good points - not that easy keeping that many players happy / get them reasonable PT - do not think Dutcher wants to see the 3 Freshmen from last season Elijah, Miles and Shay leaving the program . Also the 2 incoming Freshmen . have no reliable idea on how Shay who was most noted in HS as a good defender has developed . Or what to expect from Heide who I think is a player that can play well with his back to the basket down low - but it is a major transition going from HS where a player can tower over shorter players .
So as you point out Dutcher would most likely be bringing in guys with a specific idea where he thinks the team may need the most assistance .
Think one of the key players is going to be Ledee - what is going to be the best position so he gets a good amount of touches and able to score . In addition what position might allow him to stay away from foul trouble .

my hopes got ahead of me, Hunter Sallis to Wake Forest, never the less, the Aztecs have several reported transfers in this week. Why did you get your hopes up for him? We don't need a PG, and with RDW we don't really need a guard. Especially one who's looking to start. I doubt we bring in any G's, unless it's someone willing to take on Seiko's role (bench, 3 & D). That definitely wasn't Sallis. The good of this, which I mentioned in the main transfer thread, is he didn't pick Nebraska.
