Aztecs were up 9-0 when I left in the bottom of the 8th. Fondtain started and pitched into the 7th. Looked very sharp tonight. A great sports night on The Mesa!!!

Saturday night--Aztecs beat AF again, this time 13-1.
Chris Canada with the start; a wee bit shaky in the 1st, when AF scored their only run, but settled down to pitch 6 strong innings. 2 relievers finished it off.
Aztecs now 7-11 overall, but 4-2 in conference (tied for 1st).
The finale of the series is Sunday at 1 pm on The Mesa.

Not smart for Sunday's start time on the athletic department's part as the AZTECS men's basketball game should be in the second half. Most AZTECS fans not working will be watching the basketball game as they attempt to go to the Final Four.

We didn’t even know the time of the game till a day ago and these games are set up by the conference months in advance |

Too bad the new scoreboard at Tony Gwynn Stadium can't show the game--I've been told the scoreboard doesn't even have video playback capabilities yet. But...you have to remember the baseball schedule was done months ago, and I would think AF probably has travel arrangements they can't change. Also softball tomorrow at noon. |

So much for a sweep. The Aztecs baseballers must have been watching the end of the basketball game, as the first 5 Falcons all scored without an out being recorded.
The Aztecs never recovered, and lost today 12-6.
Currently 4th in the MWC.
