For those who aren't fortunate to go to Louisville, SDSU is holding a Watch Party at Viejas Arena on Friday.

I can't get out of work, but I'll be with my Aztec brethren screaming at the top of my lungs in front of the big screen.

Tornado watch and flood watch for Louisville on Friday. The tornado will be LeDee driving the lane. The flood - the D gets a steal and five Aztecs sprint down court.

Tornado watch and flood watch for Louisville on Friday. Glad the Aztecs will be there before the heavy weather and won't be leaving for San Diego until Monday after the weather has passed and we've secured our spot in the Final Four.

The forecast for Friday's high is 60 which is not conducive for a tornado. I do like the idea of Ledee tearing it up in the lane.

The forecast for Friday's high is 60 which is not conducive for a tornado. I do like the idea of Ledee tearing it up in the lane. Was watching the Weather Channel yesterday. There's a convergence of very warm air in the south and a cold front extending from Iowa south through Texas sweeping in from the west. A band of severe weather on Friday will extend from Ohio through Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Miss., Ala., etc. Severe thunderstorms, flooding and tornadoes can be expected. But it appears that while heavy rain will visit Louisville and the rest of Kentucky, most of the intense activity will be to the south. Friday's forecast for Louisville: Rain with thunderstorms by evening. High near 60F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Locally heavy rainfall possible. From the NWS Storm Watch Center in Norman, OK: Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0100 AM CDT Thu Mar 23 2023 Valid 241200Z - 251200Z ...THERE IS A MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS NORTHEAST LOUISIANA...SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS...AND WESTERN MISSISSIPPI... ...SUMMARY... Supercell thunderstorms capable of all severe hazards, including strong tornadoes, are possible across the Lower Mississippi Valley on Friday. ...Synopsis... Upper troughing is expected to be in place over the western CONUS early Friday morning. Strong mid-level flow will extend throughout the periphery of this trough into the more confluent flow north of the subtropical ridging across the eastern CONUS. A shortwave trough is forecast to move through this enhanced mid-level flow, tracking quickly eastward across the southern Plains during the day, and more northeastward into the Mid MS Valley overnight. Mid-level flow is expected to strengthen as the shortwave moves eastward, with 100+ kt at 500 mb spreading across TX into the Mid-South.

Tornado watch and flood watch for Louisville on Friday. I'm seeing rain all day, temps in the mid-50s and winds of 6-8mph. Tornados don't usually affect Lexington or Louisville. I've lived in Lexington for the past 3 years and haven't had a tornado warning/alert. Other parts of the state have been hit hard by tornado/flooding but not here.

I've lived in Lexington for the past 3 years and haven't had a tornado warning/alert. Other parts of the state have been hit hard by tornado/flooding but not here. The Real Oracle knows nothing about tornados I knew nothing about tornadoes either until I went to a technology trade show in Orlando in February 1998. I was with a bunch of other Californians who knew nothing about tornadoes either. After a long day at the trade show, we sojourned to a nearby TGI Fridays in Kissimmee for some adult refreshments. The taxi driver said something about a tornado watch and that we should listen for sirens, but I didn't really pay attention. We were all sitting in a big booth next to floor-to-glass windows merrily imbibing beverages when it suddenly looked like we were in a car wash -- horizontal rain, etc. Long story short, we found ourself in the midst of the biggest, most-deadly tornado outbreak in Florida history. It was bonkers. Had to hunker down in the back of a TGI Fridays until 3 a.m. when the storm passed. Crazy. A big F4 tore through about a half mile from where we were hunkered down. Sounded like a freight train, just like they say. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1998_Kissimmee_tornado_outbreakOn February 21–23, 1998, a devastating tornado outbreak affected portions of the Southeastern United States, primarily the U.S. state of Florida. Sometimes known as the Night of the Tornadoes, it was the deadliest tornado event in Florida history. In all, 15 tornadoes touched down, one of which was long lived and tracked for nearly 40 miles (64 km). Affecting mainly the Interstate 4 (I-4) corridor of Central Florida, including the Greater Orlando area, the tornadoes—among the strongest ever recorded in Florida—produced near-violent damage, killed 42 people, and caused 259 injuries.

I'm driving in tomorrow. I haven't been to a sweet 16 before and am not sure what to expect in terms of traffic, parking and when a where to meet up with other Aztec fans before entering the arena around 5pm. Suggestions?

Referee Tony Padilla from the Pac12, MWC, WCC (etc) and Final 4 veteran is in the area. The BEST thing that has happened re: officiating this season is that Randy McCall has not been on the floor since mid-season. I saw him noticeably limping in some early season games, so he must be on the IL.

For those who are attending, enjoy the weekend. If you wish to celebrate or commiserate after the game don't forget, you're in bourbon country.
