1. Shouldn't this be in the recruiting section?
2. Are we going to start a new thread for every portal player that hails from So Cal and/or was a teammate of an Aztec. Or can we reduce threads down to portal players that are said to have reached out to or been contacted by SDSU?
Regardless, he looks like he'd be a great fit and meet a glaring need...

He's also a HS teammate of Josh Hunter 😁

agree and trust the Aztec coaches have made contact with him - now the key part has he responded back with any interest
nice to have players help with the recruiting as players do prefer the actual connection with former team mates

The 2022 roster looks like it excludes anyone who left the team, including those who graduated. Their senior quarterback, Spencer Sanders, for example is not listed there.

Tuihalamaka senior season at Mater Dei was 2017. Josh Hunter’s Freshman season was 2018, they were not teammates. Tuihalamaka was lightly recruited, all small schools except his one P5 offer from OSU.

He did play in every game of this past season - not noted if he was a starters or reserve - his best game was against the Longhorns
OSU now has 15 players in the Portal and has lost their best DL to the Sooners
He will be considered a Super Senior
Another angle could be that he has a younger brother who is even bigger - so there is some concern at OSU that they could end up losing him and maybe his brother ( 2024 recruit ) not sure of the rules but could Samuela red shirt next season and then possibly play in 2024 with his younger brother ?
His stats are not great but maybe a great DL coach could get him playing better ?

2 Defensive Line All-Americans in 2 years is a great recruiting pitch. We lost a DL coach but Brady did that in the NFL and the defensive schemes we run help also. Not surprised.

Looks like a solid fit at a position of significant need. Perhaps not a game changer but fairly solid.

So he didn't play in 2022? This is from Twitter: "Oklahoma State DL Samuela Tuihalamaka entered the transfer portal; he finished the 2022 season with 23 tackles, 4 TFL and 1 sack @tui_35"

I'm confident in Mattix. This addition is a big help in maintaining a solid defense. Offense is still very weak and it is looking increasingly obvious that the HC is "content" with our mediocrity.

Can change the Title of the Post to Signed
2022 he played in 13 games - 23 tackles - 1 sack - 4 tackles for loss - and 2 tackles in their Bowl game against the Badgers
Correct as I posted OSU was worried that they would lose him and his Bigger Younger brother a 2024 recruit - who has 2 schools who have been recruiting him OSU and Hawaii
So maybe if treated well by the coaching staff could assist in recruiting his brother - who is rated as an even better bigger player - they are from So Cal - so parents can see them play more often
also was on the Big 12 Academic team

Mods can move it if they wish. Edited to add: I done good. Maybe Eric will take some of my negative rating away.
